Job Overview:
The Associate position is a pivotal role within the Information Technology division of the EBRD, focusing on the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of the Bank's platforms and software solutions. The Associate will take a lead role in optimizing EBRD's infrastructure and software solutions, ensuring that they align with user needs and business objectives. This position requires a strong proficiency in software design, CI/CD pipeline implementation, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) technologies. The Associate will work closely with multi-functional teams and business product owners to deliver high-quality services. Additionally, the role may involve leading small projects and mentoring less experienced engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning. The Associate is expected to adopt Agile methodologies and promote a user-centered approach in all engineering efforts, ensuring that services are developed based on user needs and aligned with established user journeys.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Associate will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including:
  • Engineering Excellence: Utilizing in-depth knowledge and experience to enable team success, mentoring less experienced engineers, and staying updated with the latest technologies and best practices.
  • Agile Ways of Working: Helping the squad adopt Agile methodologies, building high-performing teams, and focusing on delivering continuous value.
  • Managing Cost and Budget: Tracking time and effort using appropriate tools, ensuring efficient work processes, and managing the value from technology and delivery partners.
  • Quality Assurance: Embedding a quality assurance mindset in the team's work, focusing on automation and best practices such as Test-Driven Development.
  • User Experience: Ensuring that services are developed based on user needs, captured in user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Risk and MDR: Designing, developing, and supporting customizations within the QRE data suite, collaborating with product owners, and ensuring data integrity through audit control checks.
  • Interaction with Market Data Vendors: Resolving issues and maintaining relationships with vendors.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a degree or equivalent professional experience. A proficient understanding of treasury and banking products, market/credit risk measurement techniques, and scripting languages such as Perl, Shell, and Python is essential. Experience with ETL processes, particularly using Informatica PowerCenter, and familiarity with Oracle, PL/SQL, SQL Server, and NoSQL databases are required. The ability to build and test Control-M based orchestration of QRE processes is also necessary. Candidates should have experience in managing test environments and IT application support, with flexibility for occasional out-of-hours maintenance. Awareness of stylesheets and XSLT is desirable, along with experience in producing ICF reports for auditors.

Educational Background:
A degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline is required. Candidates with equivalent professional experience may also be considered. Continuous professional development and staying abreast of industry trends and technologies are encouraged.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have a solid background in IT application support and experience in software development and engineering practices. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience in managing and maintaining test environments are essential. Candidates should have a proven track record of working in a collaborative environment and leading small projects or teams.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory, as it is the working language of the EBRD. Knowledge of additional languages is considered an asset, particularly those relevant to the regions in which the EBRD operates.

Additional Notes:
This is a fixed-term contract position with a duration of 2 years. The role is expected to be full-time, with employees required to attend the office 50% of their working time.
