Job Overview: The Analyst position is crucial for providing operational and analytical support to the Ukraine Hub, which is dedicated to managing donor-funded programs and resources aimed at supporting Ukraine. The role involves collaborating with the Associate Director and the wider team to ensure effective management of donor-supported projects and initiatives. The Analyst will engage with donor partnerships to optimize support for Ukraine, ensuring that EBRD initiatives align with bilateral support from donor countries and international partners. The position requires the preparation of high-quality briefings, desk research, and communication materials for various stakeholders, thereby enhancing the Bank's international profile and facilitating smooth information-sharing within the organization. The Analyst will focus on strategic coordination of efforts to address Ukraine's immediate financing needs and future recovery and reconstruction activities, working closely with various teams within the Bank.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Analyst will be responsible for several key workstreams under the guidance of the Ukraine Hub’s Head and Principal. These include: 1) Donor engagement and funds allocation: Engaging with donor partnerships and representatives, preparing donor-facing materials, and supporting monitoring and assessment of bilateral support for Ukraine. 2) Data collection and management: Maintaining a comprehensive data set on donor funds related to Ukraine, conducting data integrity checks, and ensuring reliable data flows to stakeholders. 3) Communications and strategy support: Drafting briefings and reports for external consumption, ensuring accuracy in communications, and supporting preparations for donor platform events and inbound visits from international partners. The Analyst will also assist with research to inform new EBRD initiatives and support various Hub-led projects related to emergency response and recovery efforts in Ukraine.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree, with a Master’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in relevant fields such as business administration, economics, finance, public policy, or international relations. Professional experience in a relevant area is essential, along with a solid understanding of the economic, political, and environmental challenges in international development and aid architecture. Familiarity with banking, financial products, and innovative financial instruments is also required. Strong analytical skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to summarize complex data are crucial for this role. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, is necessary, along with effective time management and organizational skills.
Educational Background: The position requires a Bachelor’s degree as a minimum qualification, with a preference for candidates holding a Master’s degree or equivalent experience in relevant fields such as business administration, economics, finance, public policy, or international relations. This educational background is essential to understand the complexities of the role and the environment in which the EBRD operates.
Experience: Candidates should have professional experience in a relevant area of work, demonstrating an understanding of the economic, political, and environmental challenges faced in the international development field.
