Job Overview:
As a Junior Communication Officer at CERN, you will play a vital role in enhancing communication within a technical and international environment. Your primary responsibilities will include creating and disseminating digital, visual, and written content to facilitate information sharing and community engagement. You will collaborate closely with central communication services and various internal stakeholders to ensure that communication is timely, consistent, and well-coordinated across multiple channels. Duties and Responsibilities:
Your duties will encompass a wide range of responsibilities, including maintaining and updating the SCE Department websites and internal pages, drafting, editing, and publishing departmental news and announcements across various channels. You will manage CERN Campus Apps notifications to ensure that information is clear, accurate, and timely. Additionally, you will prepare and produce departmental newsletters by coordinating editorial inputs, ensuring consistency in tone, and proofreading content before publication. You will also contribute to activity reports and design visual communication materials such as posters, leaflets, and simple infographics for both digital and print use. Ensuring that all communication materials comply with CERN's communication and visual identity standards will be crucial. You will manage and animate internal communication channels to support engagement and facilitate effective two-way communication with internal audiences.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, you should have some experience in communication, digital content management, editorial work, or visual design. While experience in an international, technical, or scientific environment is advantageous, a strong motivation and willingness to learn are essential. You should possess a good command of standard office software and be familiar with content management systems, particularly WordPress, as well as digital publishing tools. Basic graphic design skills and ease with visual creation tools, such as the Adobe suite or equivalent, are also required. An interest in digital communication platforms and community management tools will be beneficial.

Educational Background:
Candidates must hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Communication, Journalism, Digital Media, or a related field. It is important to note that applicants without a university degree are not eligible for this position, nor are those with a PhD. By the application deadline, candidates should have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in the relevant fields.

Experience:
