Job Overview:
The Chauffeur position at ONU Femmes involves providing reliable and safe driving services to ONU Femmes staff, UN officials, and visitors. The role requires adherence to the highest standards of discretion, integrity, and responsibility, as well as a strong understanding of protocol and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security issues. The Chauffeur is expected to maintain a customer-oriented approach, demonstrating courtesy, confidentiality, and tact while working with individuals from diverse national and cultural backgrounds. The position also includes basic administrative support to the ONU Femmes country office in the Central African Republic, under the supervision of the Security Associate.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Chauffeur's primary responsibilities include:
  • Providing reliable and secure driving services for authorized personnel, including transporting staff and delivering documents to various locations such as government offices, embassies, and UN offices.
  • Meeting official personnel and visitors at the airport, assisting with visa and customs procedures as necessary.
  • Ensuring all passengers wear seatbelts at all times and taking immediate action in case of accidents, adhering to ONU Femmes' vehicle management policies.
  • Maintaining the vehicle in good working condition, including daily checks, cleaning, and minor repairs, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Keeping accurate records of vehicle usage, including mileage, fuel consumption, and maintenance activities.
  • Providing general administrative and logistical support as needed, such as assisting with filing, photocopying, and distribution of publications.
  • Performing any other tasks relevant to the role as deemed necessary for the efficient operation of the office.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires a high school diploma and a valid driver's license. Candidates must have at least two years of driving experience in an international organization, embassy, or UN system, with a proven record of safe driving. Knowledge of local traffic laws and regulations is essential, along with excellent driving skills and the ability to perform minor vehicle repairs. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to gender equality and possess strong communication skills.

Educational Background:
A high school diploma is mandatory for this position. Candidates must also hold a valid driver's license, which is essential for performing the duties of the Chauffeur role effectively.

Experience:
Candidates must have a minimum of two years of experience as a driver in an international organization, embassy, or within the UN system. A clean driving record and experience in providing transportation services to high-level officials are highly desirable.

Languages:
Fluency in French is required for this position, while proficiency in English is considered a significant advantage. Knowledge of another UN official language (Arabic, Chinese, Spanish, or Russian) is also desirable, enhancing the candidate's profile.
