The internship will tentatively commence on March 9, 2026, and will last for six months, providing interns with ample time to immerse themselves in the organization's activities and gain valuable experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will be responsible for a range of duties, including but not limited to: assisting in the collection and analysis of economic data and qualitative socio-economic information; preparing briefing notes and inputs for speeches on economic issues; supporting the preparation of reports for intergovernmental bodies; summarizing intergovernmental meetings; organizing expert group meetings and seminars on trade and development topics; performing various administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the work unit; and supporting the division's program reporting efforts. Interns will also need to ensure they have the necessary IT setup to work remotely, including a computer with the latest software and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security measures in place. Additionally, interns are expected to adhere to the UN's rules and regulations, maintain confidentiality, and respect the organization's impartiality and independence.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for the internship, applicants must be enrolled in or have completed a graduate program or be in the final year of a bachelor's degree program. A strong interest in the work of the United Nations and a commitment to its ideals are essential. Interns should possess computer literacy in standard software applications and demonstrate the ability to interact effectively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. While no prior work experience is required, a field of study related to economics, development, law, political science, or social sciences is necessary. Knowledge of trade and the multilateral trading system is considered an asset, and applicants pursuing studies in journalism, marketing, public relations, or communications are also encouraged to apply.

Educational Background:
Applicants must have a university degree in a relevant field such as economics, development, law, political science, or other social sciences. The internship is unpaid, and interns are responsible for their own travel, accommodation, medical insurance, and living expenses. Interns must have a valid visa to participate in the program.
