The intern will work closely with the Department of Peace Operations (DPO), which provides political and executive direction to peacekeeping operations globally. The role involves a hybrid work model, requiring the intern to be present in the New York office for a few days each week while also allowing for remote work. They will conduct background research on peacekeeping-related challenges and digital solutions, synthesizing findings into actionable insights for briefings and reports. The intern will design and conduct surveys, analyze data, and draft summaries and reports to inform program decisions. Additionally, they will support the planning and facilitation of workshops and consultations, liaising with relevant UN entities and external partners. The intern will also draft various written outputs, maintain organized records of meetings and project documents, and assist in the coordination of workstreams and events. This includes tracking tasks, taking meeting minutes, and monitoring progress against implementation plans. The intern will help organize in-person, virtual, and hybrid meetings, providing logistical and administrative support as needed.
