Job Overview: The Online Volunteer position at UNEP FI is focused on providing strategic and technical communication support to enhance internal well-being communications within the organization. This role is foundational in establishing a strategic approach that contributes to organizational stability and the consistent achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The volunteer will not be involved in providing psychological guidance, clinical counseling, medical advice, or leading live training sessions. Instead, the primary responsibility is to design a comprehensive communications strategy and a thematic roadmap aimed at promoting staff well-being and resilience. The volunteer will engage in resource mapping, thematic roadmap development, and drafting messaging guidelines to ensure effective internal communication regarding well-being initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Online Volunteer include:
Resource Mapping: Conduct a review and catalog current internal UNEP FI and UN system resources available to staff, such as Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) and external services, while identifying communication gaps.
Thematic Roadmap Development: Draft a structured thematic calendar that outlines quarterly themes and suggested monthly topics for well-being awareness, such as Digital Fatigue and Psychological Safety.
Messaging Guidelines: Create clear, non-clinical guidelines to ensure that all future internal well-being communications are sensitive and de-stigmatizing.
Deliverables: The final output will consist of a strategic framework package suitable for UNEP FI's internal use, which includes: a) Well-being Communication Strategy & Thematic Roadmap: A structured plan for internal awareness themes. b) Resource Catalogue and Gap Analysis: A summary of existing well-being support services and identified areas for communication improvement. c) Messaging and Tone of Voice Guidelines: A guide for future internal well-being communications to maintain professional, non-clinical standards.
Required Qualifications: The position requires candidates to possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to draft clear and concise messaging. Candidates should have a background in communications, public relations, or a related field, and demonstrate an understanding of well-being and resilience concepts. Familiarity with the UN system and its resources is advantageous. Additionally, candidates should exhibit sensitivity to mental health issues and the ability to create de-stigmatizing communication materials.
