They actively welcome individuals from various backgrounds, perspectives, and skills to contribute to their mission.

Job Overview:
The position of Graphic Designer at Mercy Corps is crucial for enhancing the quality, speed, and impact of visual outputs related to crisis analysis in the MENA and Europe regions. The designer will be responsible for producing high-quality visual materials that support humanitarian and development operations. This role involves working on a variety of projects that require strong data visualization skills and the ability to create visually appealing presentations, policy papers, and social media content. The designer will be part of a roster that provides short-term, task-based design services, ensuring that Mercy Corps' branding and communication standards are met. As the demand for visually engaging products increases, the designer will play a key role in delivering impactful visual content that supports evidence-based advocacy and program learning.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Graphic Designer will be tasked with several key responsibilities, including: conceptualizing and developing visual assets based on briefs provided by Mercy Corps teams; adapting existing templates to ensure compliance with Mercy Corps brand guidelines; producing visually engaging infographics, layouts, and social media graphics; delivering outputs in both editable and final formats, such as InDesign, Illustrator, Canva, and PDF; incorporating feedback and revisions promptly to meet project requirements; and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality files that are ready for both print and web use. The designer will also be responsible for creating a variety of deliverables, including designed reports, briefs, publications, infographics, data visualizations, social media graphics, presentation decks, and event branding materials such as banners and flyers. Each assignment will have specific scopes, deliverables, deadlines, and payment terms outlined.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Graphic Designer position must possess a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in graphic design or a related field. A proven track record of delivering high-quality design products is essential, and applicants are required to submit a portfolio that demonstrates their relevant design work. Additionally, experience in designing reports, policy briefs, presentations, and social media content is necessary. The ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple assignments simultaneously is also a critical qualification for this role.

Educational Background:
While the job posting does not specify a particular educational background, it is generally expected that candidates will have formal training in graphic design or a related field. This could include a degree or certification in graphic design, visual communication, or a similar discipline, which would provide the foundational skills and knowledge necessary for the role.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have at least 3 years of professional experience in graphic design or a related field. This level of experience is important to ensure that the designer is capable of producing high-quality work and can handle the demands of the role effectively. A strong portfolio showcasing previous design projects is also a critical component of the application process, as it demonstrates the candidate's skills and experience in the field.

Languages:
While the job posting does not explicitly mention language requirements, proficiency in English is likely mandatory given the international nature of Mercy Corps' operations and the need for effective communication within the organization. Additional language skills may be considered beneficial, especially if they align with the regions in which Mercy Corps operates, such as Arabic for work in the MENA region.

Additional Notes:
This position is a roster-based consultancy, meaning that inclusion in the roster does not guarantee immediate engagement. Designers will be contacted as needs arise and will be contracted individually based on agreed terms and deliverables. It is important to note that all materials and designs developed under Mercy Corps assignments remain the sole property of the organization, and consultants are prohibited from reproducing or sharing any content without written permission. Interested candidates must submit a CV, a portfolio demonstrating relevant design work, and contact details for two professional references before the application deadline of February 5, 2026.
