Job Overview:
The Field Project Coordination Associate will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of UNFPA's programs in Sri Lanka, particularly in the context of humanitarian responses. This position involves close collaboration with various stakeholders, including country office staff, external partners, and agency counterparts. The Associate will monitor project milestones, provide feedback on project status, and ensure the quality and accountability of project implementation. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying areas for improvement and adapting activities to meet the needs of the communities served. The Associate will also be responsible for conducting program monitoring in focus districts, supporting capacity development activities, and coordinating with implementing partners to ensure efficient program delivery.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Field Project Coordination Associate will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including: conducting program monitoring for cash and kit distribution, mobile outreach clinics, and GBV safety verifications; performing compliance monitoring of partner activities; preparing training materials and assisting in training local partners; coordinating with government and non-government counterparts; preparing and conducting monitoring visits; organizing coordination meetings with community leaders and stakeholders; documenting lessons learned and good practices; supporting the implementation of UNFPA humanitarian interventions; participating in coordination meetings; and providing regular updates to the Humanitarian Programme Team on field implementation status. The Associate will also assist in rapid needs assessments and post-distribution monitoring to inform future interventions.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess strong experience in humanitarian or development program implementation, with a minimum of six years of relevant experience if holding a G.C.E. Advanced Level or High School Diploma, or three years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Knowledge of project administration, monitoring and evaluation processes, and strong organizational skills are essential. Candidates should demonstrate a high sense of confidentiality, initiative, and good judgment, as well as the ability to work effectively with diverse populations. Attention to detail and good analytical and report writing skills are also required.

Educational Background:
The educational requirements for this position include successful completion of Secondary Level Education (G.C.E. Advanced Level or High School Diploma) with six years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree in development studies, humanitarian affairs, international relations, or other relevant subjects with three years of experience. This educational background ensures that candidates have the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills to effectively contribute to UNFPA's mission.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have significant experience in humanitarian or development program implementation. Specifically, candidates should have six years of experience if they hold a G.C.E. Advanced Level or High School Diploma, or three years of experience if they possess a Bachelor's degree. This experience should ideally be at the national or field level, demonstrating the candidate's ability to manage and implement programs effectively in diverse and challenging environments.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, along with proficiency in Sinhala and/or Tamil. Excellent communication skills in these languages are essential for effective collaboration with local partners, stakeholders, and community members. Candidates who possess additional language skills may have an advantage in this role, as they can facilitate better communication and understanding in diverse settings.
