Job Overview:
The Senior Manager–Programs and Operations is a pivotal role within FHI 360's Nepal office, responsible for providing strategic oversight and leadership for the overall operations, administration, and program support. This position is crucial for ensuring that the office functions smoothly and efficiently, which includes managing procurement, travel, inventory, and other operational services. The Senior Manager will work closely with all departments and program units to support effective program implementation while adhering to FHI 360's policies and procedures. The role requires a proactive approach to managing multiple tasks and the ability to work in a virtual environment, collaborating with teams across different time zones. The Senior Manager will also be involved in developing country program strategies, business plans, operational plans, and budgets, ensuring that all operational aspects align with the organization's goals and objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Manager will assist the Project Director/Country Representative and program leadership on all administrative and operational matters to ensure smooth office functioning. Key responsibilities include leading and managing the procurement process, ensuring compliance with organizational policies, overseeing the maintenance and monitoring of office equipment and assets, and serving as a member of the FHI 360 Nepal Senior Leadership Team. The role also involves ensuring coordination between program and operations teams for efficient project implementation, providing guidance on operational risk management, and facilitating capacity-building for program and operations staff. Additionally, the Senior Manager will coordinate logistics and operational planning for program activities, including events, trainings, and field visits, to ensure timely execution of projects. Other duties may be assigned by the Supervisor and Country Representative as needed.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in management, administration, or a related field, along with five to seven years of experience overseeing administration, operations, or support functions in a professional setting. Alternatively, a bachelor’s degree with seven to ten years of relevant experience is acceptable. Prior experience in program and operations management within related organizations is essential. The ideal candidate should demonstrate excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, and SharePoint. Strong team-building abilities and a proactive approach to managing multiple tasks are also required.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Master’s degree in management, administration, or a related field. Candidates with a bachelor’s degree may also be considered if they have extensive relevant experience. This educational foundation is critical for understanding the complexities of program and operations management within a nonprofit context.

Experience:
The position requires a significant level of experience, specifically five to seven years in administration, operations, or support functions in a professional setting. Candidates with a bachelor’s degree should have seven to ten years of relevant experience. Experience in program and operations management in related organizations is highly desirable, as it equips candidates with the necessary skills to navigate the challenges of this role effectively.

Languages:
Fluency in both oral and written English and Nepali is mandatory for this position, as effective communication is vital for documentation and collaboration within the organization. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an advantage but is not explicitly required.
