Job Overview: The Project Officer plays a crucial role in supporting the implementation of the STRengthening Infectious disease DEtection Systems (STRIDES) Activity in Nepal. This position involves providing essential coordination, administrative, and logistical support to ensure the smooth operation of the program. The Project Officer will facilitate approvals, organize meetings, training sessions, and documentation, while ensuring compliance with FHI 360 policies and timely reporting. Additionally, the role includes supporting subcontractor planning and budgeting, ensuring alignment with STRIDES’ objectives aimed at strengthening infectious disease detection, surveillance, and response systems. The Project Officer will also be responsible for tracking compliance-related documentation and deliverables from subcontractors, preparing presentations, and assisting with other project objectives and deliverables as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Project Officer's key responsibilities include supporting project management, delivering presentations, and leading meetings in collaboration with the STRIDES Nepal team to meet project needs. The officer will assist in obtaining necessary approvals from government divisions for various activities, including trainings and workshops. They will also be responsible for planning and organizing logistical arrangements for program meetings and events, drafting meeting agendas and notes, and ensuring timely processing of program advances and expenses. The Project Officer will assist in preparing consultant and subcontract agreements, monitor deliverables, and maintain documentation for audits. They will liaise with subcontractors and consultants to facilitate communication and task completion, provide administrative support for travel arrangements, and assist in procurement processes. Maintaining accurate program records and logs, as well as performing other programmatic and administrative duties as assigned, are also part of the role.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in business administration, social sciences, or a relevant field, along with three years of relevant work experience. A Master's degree in a related field is preferred. The ideal candidate should have experience in planning, coordination, and communication, with a proven ability to collaborate with multiple teams and stakeholders. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage office operations and logistics are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools is advantageous, and candidates should demonstrate excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in business administration, social sciences, or a relevant field is required for this position.
