Job Overview: The position involves providing specialized graphic design services to UNICEF, requiring candidates to have the necessary experience and competencies for developing graphic materials. Selected candidates will be part of a roster and will provide services for specific UNICEF projects based on detailed work orders. The role emphasizes creativity, design, and the production of high-quality graphic materials that align with UNICEF's communication strategy. The consultant will work remotely, coordinating with UNICEF's communications team and program specialists to ensure that all designs meet the required standards and deadlines. The consultant will also be responsible for ensuring that all materials are delivered in high resolution and in formats suitable for both print and digital publication.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide graphic design services as per UNICEF's requirements.
Coordinate with the Communications area and UNICEF program specialists to agree on product parameters.
Conduct a preliminary analysis of assigned work to ensure understanding of purpose, target audience, and required formality.
Design products according to specific requirements and present design proposals for each requested product.
Ensure clarity, fluency, coherence, and consistency in designs according to UNICEF guidelines.
Generate all documents in high resolution for proper adaptation to large formats.
Submit designed documents within the established deadlines for UNICEF's review.
Deliver final files that include print-ready and digital versions, as well as editable formats.
Make necessary adjustments to meet UNICEF's quality standards and institutional consistency. 1
Ensure compliance with UNICEF's Basic Commitments for Children and prevent abuse and exploitation.
Required Qualifications:
Technical training in Visual Production, Visual Communication, Visual Arts, Advertising, Multimedia, or related fields. A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
At least 5 years of professional experience in graphic design and/or visual communication. Previous experience with international organizations, UN agencies, or the social sector is valued.
Specific knowledge in creating visual proposals with a creative, inclusive, and results-oriented approach.
Proficiency in design software, preferably Adobe Suite.
Basic writing and spelling skills.
Experience in producing final art and understanding color nomenclature for print material preparation.
Effective time management and strict adherence to deadlines.
Ability to receive feedback and adjust work according to requirements.
Attention to detail and high-quality standards.
Educational Background: Candidates should have a technical background in areas such as Visual Production, Visual Communication, Visual Arts, Advertising, Multimedia, or related fields. A Bachelor's degree is preferred, as it demonstrates a higher level of education and expertise in the relevant field.
Experience: Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in graphic design and/or visual communication. Experience working with international organizations, UN agencies, or in the social sector will be considered an asset, as it indicates familiarity with the specific needs and standards of such organizations.
Languages: Fluency in Spanish (written, spoken, and read) is mandatory. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required for this position.
Additional Notes: The participation in this roster does not guarantee selection for a contract with UNICEF. The process is aimed at identifying experts for future needs, and the roster will be valid for a maximum of 36 months after the process concludes. Being selected for the roster does not imply a binding agreement unless a contract is formalized later with specific terms of reference. Consultants are responsible for their own tax obligations and ensuring valid health insurance during the contract period. Selected candidates must confirm full vaccination against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a WHO-approved vaccine, although this does not apply to remote consultants who will not interact directly with UNICEF's facilities or communities.
