Job Overview:
The logistics-officer" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Logistics Officer position at NRC involves supporting the management of the supply chain in accordance with established rules and procedures. The role requires the officer to draft reports related to procurement activities, including tracking purchases according to approved purchasing plans, updating price lists, maintaining supplier registers, monitoring contracts, and managing expenses related to fleet and internet services. The officer will also be responsible for archiving both physical and electronic logistics documents in compliance with filing standards. Furthermore, the Logistics Officer will assist the Logistics Team Leader in market analysis within the region, identify and manage supplier risks, participate in supplier evaluations, and update the supplier database. The position plays a crucial role in ensuring the effective distribution of kits across various sites in the Petit Nord-Kivu region, contributing to the overall mission of NRC to provide timely and effective humanitarian assistance.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Logistics Officer will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:
  • Supporting the management of the supply chain in accordance with NRC's policies and procedures.
  • Drafting and maintaining reports on procurement activities, including tracking purchases, updating price lists, and managing supplier registers.
  • Monitoring contracts and expenses related to logistics operations, including fleet and internet services.
  • Ensuring proper archiving of logistics documents, both physical and electronic, in compliance with NRC's filing standards.
  • Assisting the Logistics Team Leader in conducting market analysis and identifying potential suppliers.
  • Anticipating and managing supplier risks to ensure smooth operations.
  • Participating in the evaluation of suppliers and updating the supplier database accordingly.
  • Contributing to the monitoring of framework agreements available in the Petit Nord Kivu region.
  • Collaborating with other team members to ensure effective distribution of kits and supplies to designated sites. 1

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Logistics Officer position should possess the following qualifications:
  • Professional experience in a support function, preferably in supply chain management within a humanitarian context.
  • Strong procurement skills and knowledge of market analysis.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Proven track record of fulfilling responsibilities associated with the position.
  • Fluency in French, with the ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken forms.
  • Proficiency in English is considered an asset, enhancing communication within the organization and with international partners.

Educational Background:
The ideal candidate for the Logistics Officer role should have a relevant educational background, typically including a degree or diploma in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
