  • The RCO serves as the primary support structure for the Resident Coordinator and the United Nations Country Team (UNCT), facilitating a coherent and coordinated response to Angola's development challenges. The mission of the RCO is to enhance the effectiveness of the UN's contributions to sustainable development in Angola, aligning with the global Agenda 2030 goals. The office is dedicated to fostering partnerships with the Government of Angola and other stakeholders to achieve significant developmental outcomes. The RCO is committed to transparency, accountability, and the promotion of best practices in reporting and evaluation of UN interventions in the country.

Job Overview:
The position of International Consultant for the UN Country Results Report involves rewriting and editing the 2025 UN country results report, which is a critical document that captures the collective results of the UN's efforts in Angola. The consultant will work closely with the Data Management Officer and the Head of the RCO to ensure that the report effectively showcases the transformational changes resulting from the UN's initiatives, with a strong emphasis on human stories and the impact on people's lives. The consultant will be responsible for harmonizing the report to articulate the UN's collective results clearly and compellingly, ensuring that the narrative reflects the collaborative efforts between the UN and the Government of Angola. The consultant will also design and insert graphics, proofread the report, and ensure that all inputs are well integrated into the final document. The expected duration of this consultancy is one month, with a specific timeframe for report preparation from February 10 to March 10, 2026.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will undertake the following duties and responsibilities:
  • Rewrite, revise, and edit the texts of the 2025 UN country results report based on the zero draft report provided by the RCO.
  • Harmonize the report to ensure that the UN collective results are well articulated, demonstrating the changes in people and institutions derived from the UN results.
  • Prepare the report within the specified timeframe, ensuring timely delivery of the final document.
  • Design and insert graphics into the report, utilizing photos and other inputs provided by the RCO.
  • Proofread the report to ensure clarity, coherence, and accuracy of the content.
  • Collaborate with the Data Management Officer and the Head of the RCO to incorporate feedback and make necessary revisions to the report.
  • Ensure that the report aligns with the strategic objectives outlined in the UNSDCF 2024-2028 and reflects the UN's contributions to sustainable development in Angola.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires a Master's degree or equivalent in development studies, international development, international relations, political science, governance and public policy, social sciences, or a related field. Additionally, a minimum of 5 years of experience in writing and rewriting country results reports for international multilateral and bilateral organizations is essential. The candidate must have a proven track record of proofreading and finalizing reports, including graphic design elements. Documented experience in rewriting UN country results reports and a good understanding of the UN system's operations are highly desirable qualifications for this role.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a Master's degree or an equivalent qualification in relevant fields such as development studies, international development, international relations, political science, governance and public policy, social sciences, or any other related discipline. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of international development and the UN's role in supporting national priorities.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in writing and rewriting country results reports for international organizations. This experience should include a strong focus on proofreading and finalizing reports, as well as incorporating graphic design elements to enhance the presentation of the report. Familiarity with the UN system and its operations is highly advantageous, as it will enable the consultant to effectively capture the UN's collective results and contributions to sustainable development in Angola.

Languages:
