Job Overview:
The Data engineer" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Management Engineer plays a crucial role in the Department of Safeguards at the IAEA, which is responsible for implementing safeguards to prevent the proliferation of nuclear weapons. This position involves the implementation, testing, maintenance, and upgrading of software applications and network systems that facilitate data processing and remote data collection related to nuclear safeguards. The engineer will work closely with various safeguards equipment and ensure that data is transmitted securely and efficiently. The role requires a combination of software development, project management, and network expertise, as well as a commitment to data security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security and integrity. The Data Management Engineer will also provide guidance on best practices for data integration and ensure the reliability of integrated systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Data Management Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and upgrading remote data transmission and review software applications to enhance communication and data evaluation from safeguards equipment. This includes analyzing requirements for new network systems, executing checks on the availability of remote data transmission repositories, and providing user support to Operations Divisions. The engineer will coordinate testing and implementation of network configurations, AI/ML applications, and oversee the development of SharePoint and Jira sites. Additionally, the engineer may be required to work in environments with exposure to radioactive materials, necessitating medical clearance and adherence to safety protocols.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field. A minimum of five years of experience in software engineering or network engineering is required, with specific experience in handling data from monitoring equipment, AI/ML model implementation, and familiarity with SharePoint, Jira, or Power BI. Strong analytical skills and a disciplined approach to system design and requirements analysis are essential.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a university degree in a relevant field such as computer engineering, electrical engineering, or computer science. This foundational knowledge is critical for understanding the technical aspects of software and network systems used in nuclear safeguards.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of five years of relevant work experience, particularly in software engineering and network engineering. Experience with data from monitoring equipment, AI/ML model implementation, and familiarity with project management tools is highly desirable. Candidates should have a proven track record of successfully managing projects and contributing to team efforts in a technical environment.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, with excellent oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of other official IAEA languages, including Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish, is considered an asset and may enhance a candidate's application.
