Job Overview: The Field Coordinator will play a crucial role in the implementation, coordination, monitoring, and facilitation of project activities related to the 'Zero Hunger Accelerator-Catalysing Local Investments for Agrifood System Transformation and Green Transition' in Isabela and target Local Government Units (LGUs). This position requires ensuring timely delivery of project activities, engaging with communities, and adhering to gender, inclusion, and safeguards requirements. The Field Coordinator will work closely with local partners and stakeholders to mobilize resources and support the development of climate-resilient food systems. The role demands a proactive approach to community engagement and the ability to navigate complex humanitarian contexts while fostering collaboration among diverse groups.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Field Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating day-to-day field activities with LGUs, communities, and local partners, as well as personnel from participating agencies. Key responsibilities include conducting participatory assessments related to value chains, market access, and gender dimensions; facilitating social preparation activities and community consultations; organizing logistical support for trainings and workshops; serving as the field focal point for various groups; mobilizing participants for inclusive engagement; conducting regular field monitoring; collecting and verifying beneficiary data; preparing field reports and documentation; identifying capacity gaps and developing capacity-building plans; facilitating implementation of climate-resilient production practices; ensuring adherence to FAO safeguards and gender equality; reporting field issues and challenges; and supporting knowledge documentation and visibility efforts within FAO and the Joint Programme team.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a university degree in Agriculture and Rural Development, Community Development/Organizing, Development Studies, or related fields. A minimum of five years of relevant experience in agriculture/rural development sectors, program management, capacity building, and coordination with government structures, NGOs, and UN agencies is required. Full proficiency in English is mandatory, and candidates must be nationals of the Philippines. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate core competencies such as results focus, teamwork, communication, building effective relationships, and knowledge sharing.
Educational Background: The position requires a university degree in a relevant field such as Agriculture and Rural Development, Community Development/Organizing, or Development Studies. Candidates must have their educational qualifications recognized by institutions accredited in the World Higher Education Database (WHED).
Experience: Candidates should have at least five years of relevant experience in agriculture and rural development sectors, including program management and implementation, capacity building, and coordination with national and regional government structures, NGOs, and private sector entities. Experience working with UN agencies is also beneficial.
Languages: Full proficiency in English is mandatory, and excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and Tagalog are required. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset but is not mandatory.
