Job Overview:
The Project Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the planning, implementation, and management of UN Women interventions under the project "Women’s Economic Empowerment in the South Caucasus" (WEESC). This project aims to enhance economic security and access to development opportunities for women, particularly those who are the poorest and most excluded in Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia. The Project Assistant will report to the Women’s Economic Empowerment Programme Specialist based in Tbilisi, Georgia, and will work closely with the programme and operations teams across Armenia and Georgia, as well as the ECA Regional Office. The position requires a proactive approach to ensure successful programme implementation and the achievement of planned results, necessitating strong administrative, logistical, and financial management skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide administrative and logistical support for the formulation and management of programmes, including preparing work plans, budgets, and proposals, and offering technical guidance on routine delivery and reporting of programme activities.
  • Assist in the financial management of the Programme Unit by creating projects in the Quantum system, preparing budget revisions, and monitoring budget preparation and finances of programmes/projects.
  • Undertake logistical and administrative arrangements for meetings, workshops, and events, including travel arrangements for the Programme Team.
  • Support resource mobilization efforts by preparing cost-sharing agreements and processing information from donors and the programme team.
  • Facilitate knowledge building and sharing by synthesizing lessons learned and organizing training for office personnel and partners.
  • Perform other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organization.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of secondary education is required, with a Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related fields being desirable. Candidates should possess strong administrative skills, financial management capabilities, and proficiency in using office software packages such as MS Word and Excel. Knowledge of UN Women/UNDP procurement and financial rules is an advantage, as is experience in gender equality and women’s empowerment.

Educational Background:
The minimum educational requirement is the completion of secondary education. A Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field is preferred, as it provides a foundational understanding of the administrative and financial processes relevant to the position.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least 7 years of progressively responsible experience in administration, procurement, HR, or logistic support services. If the candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree, a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience is acceptable. Experience with computers and office software is essential, and familiarity with UN Women/UNDP procurement and financial regulations is a plus. Work experience in gender equality and women’s empowerment is also desirable, as is experience with modern web-based ERP systems, preferably Oracle Cloud.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Armenian is required for this position. Additionally, knowledge of another official UN language such as French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish is considered desirable, as it can enhance communication and collaboration in a diverse work environment.
