Job Overview: The Supply & Logistics Specialist position reports to the Deputy Representative Operations and is responsible for managing supply chains, which encompass planning, procurement, contracting, customs clearance, warehousing, in-country transport, and distribution. The role involves monitoring supplies, services, and construction works, and supporting management collaboration with programs to define supply interventions that meet programmatic needs and achieve results for children. The specialist provides technical and advisory support to governments, national systems, and partners on supply chain management, ensuring effective service delivery and emergency response, while fostering collaboration with program and implementing partners. This position is crucial for driving innovation in products and markets to enhance supply chain efficiency.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage the Supply team to ensure effective supply chain operations and service delivery.
Oversee supply chain service delivery and emergency response initiatives.
Collaborate with program and implementing partners to align supply chain strategies with programmatic needs.
Provide technical and advisory support to government and national systems on supply chain management.
Drive innovation in supply chain processes, products, and markets to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Monitor and evaluate supply chain performance, ensuring compliance with UNICEF standards and policies.
Develop and implement strategies for effective procurement, contracting, and logistics management.
Facilitate customs clearance and ensure timely distribution of supplies.
Manage financial and material resources effectively, ensuring accountability and transparency. 1

Required Qualifications:
An advanced university degree in Business Administration, Management, Economics, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, Contract/Commercial Law, International Development, Health, or a related social science field is required.
Alternatively, a first-level university degree (Bachelor’s) in a relevant technical field combined with a valid professional certification is acceptable.
A first-level university degree (Bachelor's) in a relevant technical field, along with seven (7) years of relevant work experience in supply, logistics, procurement, contracting, administration, or other directly-related technical fields, may be considered in lieu of an advanced degree.
A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience at national and international levels in supply, logistics, procurement, contracting, and administration is required.
Strong understanding of development and humanitarian work is essential.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in relevant fields such as Business Administration, Management, Economics, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, Contract/Commercial Law, International Development, Health, or related social sciences. Alternatively, a first-level university degree (Bachelor’s) in conjunction with a valid professional certification is acceptable. A first-level university degree combined with seven years of relevant work experience may also be considered in lieu of an advanced degree.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of five years of relevant experience at both national and international levels in supply, logistics, procurement, contracting, administration, or other directly-related technical fields. Candidates should have a solid understanding of development and humanitarian work, demonstrating the ability to manage complex supply chain operations effectively.
Languages: Fluency in English and Arabic is required for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language (Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) or a local language is considered desirable. Emergency experience and health supply chain management experience are also advantageous.
