Job Overview: The Payroll Analyst position at CIMMYT is designed for a dynamic, self-motivated, and service-oriented professional who will focus on laws and regulations related to social security. This includes social security contribution requirements, retirement plan contributions, payroll taxes, and other related legal aspects. The role is situated within the Human Resources Unit at CIMMYT headquarters in Texcoco, near Mexico City. The Payroll Analyst will be responsible for ensuring compliance with payroll regulations and managing various payroll-related processes, which are critical for the organization's operations and the welfare of its employees.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Payroll Analyst will undertake a variety of specific duties, including managing payroll systems and IMSS employee movements such as hiring, re-entry, and retirement. The role involves calculating priority settlements and determining the bimonthly variable of different employer records in accordance with social security law. The analyst will generate calculations and reconcile monthly and bimonthly payments of IMSS and INFONAVIT against emissions, SUA, and payroll, ensuring compliance with fiscal legislation. Additionally, the analyst will confirm INFONAVIT credit through the platform and validate it during each payroll period. Attention to IMSS-INFONAVIT requirements and procedures is crucial, as is the reconciliation of accounts related to the payroll process, reimbursement of disabilities, and CIGNA insurance. The analyst will also follow up on information for actuarial calculations and audits, administer food coupons, and maintain internal control within the payroll area regarding the sequence and payment of HQ disabilities. Furthermore, the analyst will concentrate on labor risk formats to present the annual declaration as mandated by social security law.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field. Additionally, they should have 4 to 5 years of relevant working experience in payroll and social security. An intermediate level of English is required, with candidates needing to pass an English test scoring a minimum of B1 as per the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Candidates should also have advanced knowledge of ERP systems and Microsoft Office, along with demonstrated experience in preparing relevant and timely financial management information, including the use of visual information. The selected candidate must exhibit competencies such as critical thinking, teamwork, client orientation, problem-solving, decision-making, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related area is mandatory for this position.
