Job Overview:
The Programme Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting UN Women’s initiatives aimed at engaging men and boys in promoting transformative masculinity and eradicating gender stereotypes. This position involves contributing to the design, implementation, and evaluation of programs that foster gender equality by involving men as advocates for change. The analyst will work closely with various stakeholders, including government officials, civil society, and UN Women HQ staff, to ensure effective program delivery and alignment with national priorities and international frameworks. The role requires a strong understanding of gender issues and the ability to develop strategies that encourage male engagement in gender equality efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the development of program strategies focused on engaging men and boys in promoting transformative masculinity.
  • Provide technical support for the implementation and management of activities aimed at male engagement.
  • Assist in the development of tools and methodologies to strengthen male engagement approaches.
  • Monitor program activities, results, and indicators, providing inputs for reports and evaluations.
  • Support resource mobilization strategies and maintain relevant documentation.
  • Facilitate partnerships and networks that promote active participation of men and boys in gender equality initiatives.
  • Provide technical assistance and capacity development support to project partners.
  • Coordinate advocacy activities and knowledge-building efforts related to men and boys' engagement in gender equality.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a strong understanding of gender equality issues, particularly in relation to engaging men and boys. They should have excellent analytical skills, the ability to gather and interpret data, and experience in program formulation and implementation. Knowledge of Results Based Management is essential, along with the ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders. Candidates should also demonstrate a commitment to UN Women’s core values of integrity, professionalism, and respect for diversity.

Educational Background:
A Master’s degree or equivalent in social sciences, human rights, gender/women’s studies, international development, or a related field is required. Alternatively, a first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted. A project/programme management certification (such as PMP®, PRINCE2®, or MSP®) is considered an advantage.

Experience:
At least 2 years of relevant work experience in development program/project implementation, coordination, monitoring, and evaluation is required. Additionally, at least 1 year of experience in human rights, gender equality, or engaging men and boys in gender equality initiatives is necessary. Experience in developing advocacy documents and delivering training on gender equality and masculinity is desirable, as is experience coordinating with government agencies and UN bodies.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian is required for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset.

The position is not expected to lead a team but may involve overseeing the work of Programme Associates and Assistants.
