Job Overview:
The position of Consultor componente género para Modelo Construcción Paz Policía Col involves providing technical support and implementation of the gender component within the Peacebuilding Model of the National Police of Colombia. The consultant will be responsible for systematizing and accompanying the technical aspects of this gender component, ensuring that gender considerations are integrated into peacebuilding efforts. This role requires a deep understanding of gender issues in the context of peace and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including government entities, civil society organizations, and international partners. The consultant will also be expected to contribute to the development of strategies and tools that promote gender equality and women's empowerment in the peacebuilding process.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the consultant include:
  • Conducting a thorough analysis of the current gender dynamics within the National Police of Colombia and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Developing and implementing training programs for police personnel on gender sensitivity and the importance of integrating gender perspectives into peacebuilding initiatives.
  • Collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure that gender issues are adequately addressed in the peacebuilding model.
  • Providing ongoing technical support and guidance to the National Police in the implementation of gender-related policies and practices.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of gender integration efforts within the peacebuilding model and making recommendations for adjustments as necessary.
  • Preparing reports and documentation on the progress and challenges faced in implementing the gender component, and presenting findings to relevant stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for this position include:
  • A strong background in gender studies, social sciences, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in gender analysis and the implementation of gender-sensitive programs, particularly in the context of peace and security.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative solutions to complex challenges.
  • Familiarity with the UNDP's policies and procedures, as well as an understanding of the political and social context of Colombia.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a minimum of a Master's degree in gender studies, social sciences, international relations, or a related field. A PhD in a relevant discipline would be an asset, as would additional certifications or training in gender mainstreaming or peacebuilding.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in gender analysis, program implementation, and technical support in the context of peace and security. Experience working with governmental and non-governmental organizations in Colombia or similar contexts is highly desirable. The consultant should also have a track record of successfully managing projects and collaborating with various stakeholders.

Languages:
Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, as the position requires communication with local stakeholders and the National Police. Proficiency in English is also desirable, as it may be necessary for reporting and communication with international partners. Knowledge of additional languages relevant to the Colombian context would be an advantage.

Additional Notes:
This position is for an individual contractor and is expected to last for a period of three (3) months. The consultant will work on a full-time basis and will be required to submit proposals directly through the UNDP Quantum portal before the application deadline. The position may involve travel within Colombia, depending on the needs of the project. Compensation will be based on the consultant's qualifications and experience, in accordance with UNDP's policies.
