Job Overview:
The Managing Director (MD) for the Corporate Sector plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing the Bank's strategic vision and business plan across various sectors, including Manufacturing & Services, Food & Agribusiness, Telecommunications, Media and Technology, Natural Resources, and Real Estate. The MD is responsible for leading the Corporate Debt Portfolio management team and ensuring that the Corporate Sector teams effectively originate, execute, and implement investment projects in alignment with the Bank's transition mandate. This position requires a strong focus on strategic direction, resource allocation, and collaboration with other sector and regional MDs to fulfill the Bank's overall objectives. The MD will also represent the Bank in high-profile external forums and engage in institutional and policy dialogues with key stakeholders, ensuring that the Corporate Sector's activities align with the Bank's mission and values.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The MD will define the strategic business direction of the Bank in consultation with stakeholders, manage the delivery of strategy across all business areas, and coordinate activities according to approved sector strategies. Responsibilities include representing the Bank externally, overseeing the Corporate Sector's investment projects, promoting product innovation, leading client acquisition efforts, managing the existing portfolio of loans and investments, ensuring compliance with integrity procedures, and fostering cross-sectoral cooperation. The MD will also be accountable for the Corporate Sector Business Group's budget and resource management, staff integration, recruitment, performance management, and professional development, while upholding the highest standards of integrity and ethical conduct.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must demonstrate a track record of integrity and a commitment to ethical practices. Extensive international experience in corporate sectors, particularly in developing markets, is essential. The ideal candidate will have experience in institutional dialogues with various stakeholders, first-line banking skills, and a strong understanding of financial and non-financial risk management. Strategic thinking abilities, leadership skills, and the capacity to represent the Bank in international settings are crucial. A proven record in talent attraction and team development is also required, along with the ability to collaborate effectively within senior management teams.

Educational Background:
A relevant academic background at the post-graduate level is required, or an equivalent combination of academic and professional qualifications and experience. This educational foundation should support the candidate's ability to engage with complex financial and strategic issues within the Corporate Sector.

Experience:
Candidates should possess extensive experience in managing complex debt and equity transactions, monitoring investment portfolios, and leading high-performing teams. Experience in developing markets and familiarity with the EBRD's operational context will be advantageous. The role demands a strong background in strategic planning and execution, as well as a history of successful stakeholder engagement.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, and proficiency in additional languages relevant to the EBRD's operational regions would be considered an asset. Candidates should demonstrate strong communication skills to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
This position is a fixed-term contract for 4 years, with the potential for renewal for an additional 4 years. The role is based at the EBRD's London Headquarters and involves significant leadership responsibilities within the Banking Department.
