Job Overview:
The Responsible Data Analyst I will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of CRS’s Responsible Data Policy and ensuring compliance with data protection practices across various country programs, departments, and business units. This position is focused on embedding privacy principles into operations and supporting the rollout of privacy management systems, such as OneTrust. The Analyst will work closely with country teams, regional advisors, and global stakeholders to translate policy into practice, assess and mitigate data protection risks, and build capacity in responsible data stewardship. The role requires effective coordination and communication with various levels of CRS business, including MEAL, ICT4D, Global Risk and Compliance, and Legal teams, to ensure that data protection initiatives align with the agency's responsible data values and applicable standards. The Analyst will primarily cover the AMERICA region and must be fluent in both English and Spanish, with demonstrated experience in data protection.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Analyst I will maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant data protection regulations and provide contextualized guidance to country programs, departments, and project teams. They will serve as the primary point of contact and advisor for data protection compliance within their zone. Responsibilities include supporting the implementation of the agency’s Responsible Data Policy, translating global policy into actionable practices, promoting privacy by design principles, overseeing personal data processing activities, identifying and escalating data protection risks, coordinating Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), reviewing contracts for compliance, operationalizing the OneTrust Privacy Management platform, and leading training sessions on responsible data stewardship and privacy principles.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in data protection, information systems, or a related field, along with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in data protection, privacy, or compliance roles. They should have demonstrated experience in supporting data protection programs and ensuring compliance with privacy requirements, as well as hands-on experience in handling data protection incidents and conducting privacy impact assessments. Knowledge of global data protection laws and standards, data lifecycle management, and privacy-enhancing technologies is essential.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree in data protection, information systems, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree in IT, computer science, programming, or a related field is preferred, especially for candidates seeking to enhance their qualifications for this role.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in data protection, privacy, or compliance roles. Candidates should have a proven track record of supporting data protection initiatives and ensuring compliance with organizational privacy requirements, as well as experience in managing data protection incidents and conducting privacy impact assessments.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Spanish is mandatory for this position, as effective communication in both languages is essential for the role. Proficiency in French is considered a plus, which may enhance the candidate's ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
The position is based in the U.S. East Coast (Eastern Time Zone) to ensure effective time zone alignment. The role does not have supervisory responsibilities and may require travel of up to 10%.
