Job Overview:
The position of Consultor para desarrollo de talleres involves providing consultancy services for the development of participatory workshops related to the Decarbonization Agenda of the Manufacturing Industry by 2030 (ADIM-2030). The consultant will be responsible for facilitating workshops that engage stakeholders in discussions and activities aimed at promoting sustainable practices within the manufacturing sector. This role requires a deep understanding of environmental issues, effective communication skills, and the ability to foster collaboration among diverse groups. The consultant will work virtually but will also need to conduct meetings in Lima and may travel to other regions as necessary. The expected duration of the consultancy is approximately 120 calendar days, and the consultant will be expected to deliver high-quality outputs that contribute to the overall goals of the ADIM-2030 initiative.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will have several key responsibilities, including:
  • Designing and facilitating participatory workshops that engage stakeholders from various sectors, including government, industry, and civil society.
  • Developing workshop materials and resources that effectively communicate the objectives and content of the sessions.
  • Conducting needs assessments to identify the specific requirements and expectations of participants.
  • Collaborating with UNDP and other partners to ensure alignment with the Decarbonization Agenda and other relevant initiatives.
  • Collecting and analyzing feedback from workshop participants to improve future sessions.
  • Preparing reports and documentation summarizing workshop outcomes and recommendations for further action.
  • Ensuring that all activities are conducted in accordance with UNDP's policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this consultancy position should possess the following qualifications:
  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in communication sciences, sociology, psychology, or a related field.
  • At least six (6) years of general professional experience in either the public or private sector.
  • A minimum of three (3) experiences in facilitating participatory processes, particularly in the environmental sector.
  • Desirable experience in designing communication strategies that effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as communication sciences, sociology, psychology, or a closely related discipline. Advanced degrees or specialized training in environmental studies, public policy, or related areas would be an advantage, as they would enhance the candidate's ability to contribute effectively to the consultancy.

Experience:
The position requires a significant level of experience, specifically a minimum of six (6) years in professional roles within the public or private sectors. Candidates should have demonstrable experience in facilitating participatory processes, with at least three (3) specific instances where they have successfully engaged stakeholders in environmental initiatives. This experience is crucial for ensuring that the consultant can effectively lead workshops and contribute to the goals of the Decarbonization Agenda.

Languages:
Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, as the workshops and communications will primarily be conducted in this language. Proficiency in English is also desirable, as it may facilitate communication with international stakeholders and access to broader resources and literature related to the consultancy.

Additional Notes:
This consultancy position is structured as an individual contractor role, which means that the consultant will be engaged on a contractual basis rather than as a full-time employee. The contract is expected to last for approximately 120 calendar days, and the work will be conducted virtually, with specific meetings in Lima and potential travel to other regions as defined by the project needs. The consultant will be expected to adhere to UNDP's procurement processes and guidelines, including the submission of bids through the designated supplier portal.
