Job Overview: The International Procurement Coordinator will play a crucial role in the Supply Chain & Operations team, focusing on sourcing and delivering medical supplies from RI’s international pre-qualified medical suppliers. This position involves liaising with country teams to ensure the timely receipt of purchase requests and managing the full procurement process. The coordinator will also oversee freight, customs clearance, and delivery processes, ensuring compliance with RI and donor medical supply sourcing requirements. Additionally, the role includes supporting supplier relationship management, updating medical sourcing strategies, and providing procurement training to office teams. The position is remote, with up to 30% travel required to RI countries of operation, and is a full-time, fixed-term role initially for 12 months with the possibility of extension.
Duties and Responsibilities: The responsibilities of the International Procurement Coordinator include supporting international medical procurement by sourcing and delivering medical supplies from RI-approved global suppliers. The coordinator will manage end-to-end compliant procurement processes, which encompass freight, customs clearance, delivery, payments, and documentation. Maintaining strong supplier relationships is essential to ensure that RI requirements are understood and that product availability is prioritized. The coordinator will organize and manage procurement committee meetings, ensuring timely decisions and follow-up actions, while also maintaining complete filing on SharePoint. Key procurement documents such as RFQs, tenders, bid analyses, purchase orders, and contracts will be prepared by the coordinator. Experience in international medical supply procurement, freight, and customs is essential. Proficiency in MS Office, particularly strong skills in Microsoft Excel, is required. The candidate should have experience in designing and delivering training to both internal and external stakeholders. A strong, positive track record of collaboration and the ability to work with diverse teams in various locations is necessary. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to motivate and support teams remotely in a positive and professional manner, work under pressure, and meet challenging deadlines.
