Job Overview: As a Senior Operations Coordination Officer at ADB, you will play a crucial role in supporting the organization's initiatives aimed at developing member countries in South Asia. This position is situated within the Operations Coordination Unit (SAOC) and involves collaboration with the private sector development unit in the office of the Director General (SAOD). Your primary responsibilities will include coordinating various operational tasks, managing data, and assisting in strategic planning to ensure the effective implementation of ADB's programs. You will be expected to monitor project pipelines, maintain tracking systems, and contribute to the formulation of country programming and strategies. Additionally, you will ensure quality assurance and support the development of results frameworks, while enhancing data management systems to improve operational efficiency. This role also entails managing technical assistance resources and procurement processes related to private sector development, thereby requiring a strong understanding of operational processes within an international development context.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Senior Operations Coordination Officer will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including but not limited to: coordinating bank-wide initiatives such as Operational Risk Management, Work Program and Budget Framework, Annual Portfolio Performance Report, and Development Effectiveness Review; monitoring project pipelines and maintaining tracking systems; contributing to the formulation of country programming and strategies; ensuring quality assurance and supporting results frameworks; enhancing data management systems; managing technical assistance resources, procurement, consultant contracts, and private sector data; providing support for the development of regional workplans and partnership strategies; developing tracking systems for loans, technical assistance, and country programming missions; coordinating with various departments and offices to strengthen operational networks; mentoring staff on best practices; supporting policy dialogue with developing member countries; preparing and coordinating briefing notes and presentations for events; and conducting background research to support collaboration with external institutions.
Required Qualifications: To qualify for the Senior Operations Coordination Officer position, candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field, with a preference for those holding a Master's degree or equivalent. Additionally, candidates should have at least 8 years of relevant experience in operations coordination and project and portfolio monitoring, including a minimum of 4 years in a supervisory role. Strong written communication skills are essential, as is a demonstrated understanding of programming work within an international development organization. Candidates should also have experience in budget formulation and implementation, advanced proficiency in data analysis and report preparation, and a proven track record of collaborative teamwork.
Educational Background: Candidates are required to have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Economics, Business Administration, or Commerce. A Master's degree or equivalent qualification is preferred, as it demonstrates a higher level of expertise and understanding of complex operational processes within the context of international development.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in operations coordination and project monitoring, with at least 4 years in a supervisory capacity. Additional Notes: This is a fixed-term appointment for an initial period of 3 years, with the possibility of extension for up to 2 additional years, conversion to a regular appointment, or termination at the end of the initial period based on organizational needs and individual performance.
