Job Overview: The Analyst position at WJCF, affiliated with CHAI, involves providing technical support to the National Centre for Vector Borne Disease Control (NCVBDC) in India. The role is crucial for strengthening program management, particularly in monitoring and evaluation (M&E), to facilitate data-driven decision-making. The Analyst will be responsible for enhancing data recording and reporting mechanisms, supporting governance and capacity-building initiatives, and delivering critical program insights through data analysis and visualization. This position requires a proactive approach to identifying innovative technologies and methods to support malaria elimination goals, and the Analyst will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure effective program implementation.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Analyst will undertake a variety of responsibilities, including consolidating and cleaning programmatic data for multi-dimensional analysis to provide insights for informed decision-making at NCVBDC. They will assess the existing surveillance framework, identify gaps, and suggest improvements. The Analyst will develop and manage a data quality assurance framework, create dashboards and decision support tools for key performance indicators, and prepare technical briefs and fact sheets to communicate findings. Additionally, they will document program progress through reports and presentations, conduct periodic visits to states and districts to address challenges, and collaborate with the Malaria team to align priorities and manage stakeholder relationships. Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in public health, epidemiology, economics, sociology, or a related field, along with a minimum of 2 years of professional experience. Alternatively, a Master’s degree with at least 2 years of experience is acceptable. Professional experience in a demanding private sector environment, such as strategy consulting or public sector advisory, is preferred. Candidates should have experience in monitoring and evaluation, data analytics, and dashboard development for multilateral funded projects. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is essential, along with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Educational Background: The educational requirements for this position include a Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields such as public health, epidemiology, economics, or sociology. A Master’s degree in these areas is also acceptable, provided the candidate has the requisite professional experience. The emphasis is on candidates who have a strong academic background coupled with practical experience in health-related fields.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 2 years of professional experience, which can be gained through work in public health, epidemiology, or related fields. Experience in a high-pressure private sector environment, particularly in roles related to strategy consulting or public sector advisory, is highly valued. Candidates should also have previous experience in monitoring and evaluation, data analytics, and the development of dashboards for projects funded by multilateral organizations.

Additional Notes: The position is full-time and may require frequent travel (approximately 30-50% of the time) across various regions, as well as attendance at trans-continental meetings. The role is embedded within the NCVBDC and reports to both the Head of the Malaria Department and the Associate at WJCF for project delivery.
