Job Overview:
The Senior Project Assistant (Health Coordination) will play a crucial role in the local level coordination of health interventions in Cox's Bazar, specifically overseeing the IOM Medical Teams based in Ukhikya and Teknaf Upazilas. This position requires close collaboration with the National Programme Officer (NPO) – Health Coordination, Migration Health Officer, Emergency Health Programme Coordinator, and Head of Sub Office. The successful candidate will ensure that project implementation aligns with the project plan, manage administrative tasks, conduct facility supervision visits, and address community issues or conflicts in coordination with local stakeholders. The role also involves clinical support and monitoring of health facilities, ensuring compliance with established health standards, and supporting capacity building and training for healthcare workers. Additionally, the Senior Project Assistant will coordinate with local leaders and stakeholders to identify and address emerging health concerns, maintain medical referral programs, and provide operational monitoring and guidance to community health teams.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Coordinate local health interventions and IOM Medical Teams in Ukhikya and Teknaf Upazilas.
• Conduct monitoring visits to health facilities, ensuring compliance with health standards.
• Support capacity building and training for healthcare workers.
• Collaborate with Upazila health managers, community leaders, and NGO partners to address public health concerns.
• Maintain coordination of medical referrals and provide administrative support to health facility staff.
• Monitor community health teams and ensure adherence to primary health care standards.
• Assist health facility in-charges with medicines supply chain management and inventory requests.
• Support health program monitoring through health management information systems.
• Participate in data collection and research as needed. 1

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess either a high school diploma with 7 years of relevant experience or a university degree in Medicine, Nursing, Clinical Medicine, or Public Health with at least 5 years of relevant experience. Experience in public health programs, particularly in low-resource settings such as camps or refugee environments, is essential. Strong verbal communication skills are required, and familiarity with Rohingya and local languages of Chittagong/Cox’s Bazar is advantageous. Candidates should also demonstrate the ability to supervise staff, monitor programs, and facilitate capacity building.

Educational Background:
A high school diploma is acceptable if accompanied by 7 years of relevant experience. Alternatively, a university degree in Medicine, Nursing, Clinical Medicine, or Public Health is required, along with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the field.

Experience:
The position requires significant experience in public health programs, particularly in low-resource settings such as refugee camps. Candidates should have a proven track record of working effectively in challenging environments and possess experience in NGOs and collaboration with government stakeholders. Previous work experience in Cox’s Bazar is highly desirable.

Languages:
Proficiency in verbal communication is mandatory, with a working knowledge of Rohingya and local languages of Chittagong/Cox’s Bazar considered an advantage. Strong communication skills are essential for effective coordination and collaboration with local stakeholders and community members.
