Job Overview: The Green Transition Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting the UNDP's project aimed at facilitating Kosovo's transition from coal-based energy production to renewable energy sources. This position involves working closely with the UNDP Project Manager to ensure the effective planning and implementation of project activities. The analyst will be responsible for monitoring project outputs, identifying risks, and proposing improvements to enhance project efficiency. The role requires a strong analytical mindset to contribute to policy analyses, reports, and advisory inputs related to energy and green transition. The analyst will also engage with various stakeholders, including government entities and local communities, to promote renewable energy adoption and energy efficiency practices. Duties and Responsibilities: The Green Transition Analyst will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including:
Supporting effective project planning and implementation by actively participating in the development and continuous updates of the annual work plan, budget, and procurement plan.
Contributing to the quality and timely delivery of project outputs, preparing draft reports in alignment with UNDP rules and procedures.
Monitoring project risks and issues, providing recommendations to the Project Manager, and maintaining comprehensive risk and issue logs.
Utilizing innovative tools and approaches for project implementation and stakeholder engagement, ensuring that the needs of vulnerable groups are addressed.
Providing technical support and analytical inputs by drafting policy analyses, reports, and briefs on energy and green transition topics.
Strengthening partnerships and communication by fostering strong working relationships with institutional and organizational partners, and supporting visibility and awareness-raising efforts regarding project achievements.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (Master’s Degree or equivalent) in Social Sciences, Economics, Development Studies, Climate, Environment, or a related field. Alternatively, a first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in the aforementioned areas, combined with an additional two years of qualifying experience, will be considered. Applicants with a Master’s degree are not required to have prior professional work experience, while those with a Bachelor’s degree must have a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in research, policy analysis, and report writing in the climate and energy sectors. Desired skills include experience in environmental or climate initiatives, proficiency in office software, and familiarity with strategic planning and project management.
