Job Overview: The Data Support Officer position is a crucial role within the SPINCO team, aimed at modernizing the master data ecosystem. This position is designed to support the team and various stakeholders in enhancing the quality of data throughout the development, migration, and implementation phases of the new software ecosystem. The Data Support Officer will be primarily responsible for identifying and rectifying data quality issues within existing SPINCO solutions, preparing for and executing data migration to a new platform, conducting functional and user testing, and developing training materials for end users. This role is essential for ensuring that the data management processes are robust and that the transition to the new platform is smooth and effective, ultimately contributing to the overall efficiency of MSF's operations.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Data Support Officer will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including but not limited to: reviewing and documenting data quality and consistency rules; collaborating with the Technical Team to create and monitor data quality reporting; working alongside Data Owners and Process Owners to enhance data quality in their respective domains; reviewing and completing data dictionaries for both existing and future systems; preparing and completing the mapping of data from the current state to the future state; preparing data for migration to the new platform; assisting in the actual migration of data in collaboration with the technical team; preparing user guides and training materials for end users; and delivering training sessions to targeted end users on how to effectively complete data entry for the new platform. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a strong commitment to maintaining high standards of data integrity.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the Data Support Officer position should possess a strong understanding of data management principles and practices. They should have experience in data quality assessment and improvement, as well as familiarity with data migration processes. Proficiency in data analysis tools and software is essential, along with the ability to work collaboratively with technical teams and stakeholders. Strong communication skills are necessary for developing training materials and delivering effective training sessions to end users. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate a commitment to MSF's humanitarian principles and values.
Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as data management, information technology, computer science, or a related discipline is required for this position. Experience: The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in data management or a related field. Experience working in a humanitarian or non-profit organization is highly desirable. Candidates should have a proven track record of successfully managing data quality initiatives and participating in data migration projects. Familiarity with software testing and user training is also beneficial, as the role involves significant interaction with end users and technical teams.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication within MSF. Proficiency in French or other languages relevant to MSF's operational contexts is considered a strong advantage, as it enhances communication with diverse stakeholders and end users.
