Job Overview:
The National Consultant for Private Sector Mapping will be responsible for conducting a comprehensive analysis of the private sector in Georgia, particularly focusing on the Women's Empowerment Principles (WEPs). This role involves identifying companies that are signatories to WEPs, assessing their willingness to engage in partnerships with women's rights organizations, and mapping businesses across various regions of Georgia. The consultant will engage with stakeholders to gather insights on gender equality perspectives and identify resource mobilization opportunities. The ultimate goal is to compile a detailed report with actionable recommendations for enhancing women's leadership and participation in decision-making processes.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Identification of WEPs Signatories: Analyze over 300 companies in Georgia that are WEPs signatories, narrowing down based on their willingness to engage in the study. Identify target groups for CSR activities, including women with disabilities and survivors of gender-based violence.
  • Regional Business Mapping: Investigate businesses in regions like Imereti and Racha, mapping sectors and existing gender equality initiatives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with company representatives to understand their views on gender equality and their commitment to women's empowerment.
  • Resource Mobilization Opportunities: Identify avenues for financial contributions and partnerships for women's empowerment initiatives.
  • Analysis of Barriers and Opportunities: Analyze barriers faced by businesses and civil society in promoting gender equality.
  • Reporting and Recommendations: Compile a comprehensive report detailing findings and providing actionable recommendations for strengthening partnerships with the private sector.

Required Qualifications:
  • Education: A Master's degree in gender studies, social sciences, international development, business administration, or a related field is required. A first-level university degree with four additional years of experience may be accepted.
  • Experience: At least two years of professional experience in research, consultancy, or project management focused on gender equality or women's empowerment. Experience in conducting qualitative and quantitative research is essential. Familiarity with the Women's Empowerment Principles is an asset, as is experience working with UN agencies or international organizations.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a Master's degree or equivalent in relevant fields such as gender studies, social sciences, or international development. Alternatively, a first-level university degree combined with four additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree.

Experience:
The position requires at least two years of professional experience with a Master's degree or four years with a Bachelor's degree in areas related to gender equality, women's empowerment, or civil society engagement. Experience in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies is also necessary, along with a strong understanding of the Women's Empowerment Principles and their application in business practices.

Languages:
Fluency in Georgian and English is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not explicitly required.

Additional Notes:
This consultancy is home-based, but travel outside of Tbilisi may be necessary.
