Job Overview:
The Programme Associate position at UN Women involves supporting the Programme Team in developing and implementing effective programs that align with UN Women’s rules and regulations. The role includes contributing to research, financial management, and program implementation, as well as providing operational, administrative, and programmatic support. The Programme Associate will work closely with various personnel within UN Women Georgia and other regional and headquarters offices to resolve complex finance-related issues and facilitate the exchange of information. This position is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of programs aimed at enhancing women's participation in peace and security initiatives, particularly in the context of the National Action Plan for the Implementation of UN Security Council Resolutions on Women, Peace, and Security.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Programme Associate will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:
  • Providing administrative and logistical support for program formulation and management, including preparing work plans, budgets, and proposals; offering technical guidance on program delivery and reporting; preparing information for audits; and compiling data for documents and reports.
  • Supporting financial management by creating projects in the Quantum system, preparing budget revisions, monitoring budget preparation, and reviewing financial reports.
  • Assisting with logistical arrangements for meetings, workshops, and events, including travel arrangements for the Programme Team and preparing public information materials.
  • Supporting resource mobilization efforts by preparing agreements, following up on contributions, and processing information from donors.
  • Facilitating knowledge building and sharing by synthesizing lessons learned and organizing training for office personnel and partners.
  • Performing other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the office and organization.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of secondary education, with a Bachelor’s degree in business or public administration being desirable. Additionally, candidates should have at least 6 years of progressively responsible experience in administration or program management/support, or 3 years if they hold a Bachelor’s degree. Experience in a computer environment using multiple office software packages, supporting a team, and familiarity with web-based ERP systems, preferably Oracle Cloud, is required. Knowledge of gender equality and women's empowerment, as well as experience in project support and coordination with NGOs, UN agencies, or international organizations, is highly desirable. Strong skills in budget preparation, work-plans, and administrative documentation are also essential.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes the completion of secondary education as a minimum requirement. A Bachelor’s degree in business or public administration is preferred, which would enhance the candidate's qualifications for the role.

Experience:
The position requires at least 6 years of relevant experience in administration or program management/support. If the candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree, a minimum of 3 years of experience is acceptable. Candidates should have experience working in a computer environment with various office software packages, supporting teams, and familiarity with modern web-based ERP systems, particularly Oracle Cloud. Experience in gender equality and women's empowerment, as well as project support and coordination with NGOs, UN agencies, or international organizations, is also beneficial.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Georgian is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not explicitly required.
