Job Overview:
The Data and Program Analyst position is a critical role within the Program Management Unit (PMU) for the Malaria Mukt Gadchiroli Abhiyan. The primary objective of this role is to enhance evidence-based decision-making and monitoring through effective management of surveillance data. The analyst will be responsible for cleaning, analyzing, and validating data from various health surveillance platforms, including IHIP, DVDMS, and LLIN tracking systems. This position requires the development of interactive dashboards and performance reports that will aid in monitoring district and block-level performance indicators. The analyst will work closely with the project manager and district team to support the design and implementation of the Early Warning Alert and Response System (EWARS) and contribute to operational research. The role also involves creating data-driven content for program reviews, donor reports, and technical presentations, thereby playing a vital part in the overall success of the malaria elimination initiative in Gadchiroli.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Data and Program Analyst will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including:
  • Cleaning, analyzing, and validating data from health surveillance platforms such as IHIP, DVDMS, and LLIN tracking systems.
  • Developing and maintaining dashboards and reports that reflect district and block-level performance indicators.
  • Supporting the design and roll-out of the Early Warning Alert and Response System (EWARS) and alert response systems.
  • Generating data summaries, fact sheets, and scorecards for monthly and quarterly reviews, contributing to operational research efforts.
  • Training field and facility staff in data entry, data quality assurance, and interpretation for actionable insights.
  • Providing inputs for donor reports, program learning documents, and technical presentations to ensure effective communication of program outcomes and insights.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Data Science, Public Health, or a relevant field. A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in program analytics or monitoring and evaluation roles is required. Proficiency in data analysis tools such as MS Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar software is essential. Experience with health surveillance platforms like IHIP and DVDMS is desirable. Strong analytical and communication skills are necessary, with the ability to present data both visually and narratively.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Data Science, or Public Health. This advanced education is crucial for understanding complex data sets and applying analytical techniques effectively in the context of public health.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have a minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in program analytics or monitoring and evaluation roles. This experience should ideally include working with health data and surveillance systems, as well as a demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret data effectively.

Languages:
While proficiency in English is mandatory, working knowledge of Marathi is highly desirable. This language skill will facilitate better communication and collaboration with local stakeholders and community members in Gadchiroli.
