Job Overview: The Personal Assistant will work closely with the Disability Inclusion Consultant at UNICEF's Libya Country Office. This role is crucial for ensuring that the outputs of the disability inclusion work plan are delivered effectively. The assistant will help address various accessibility barriers that individuals with disabilities face, particularly in relation to information processing and administrative tasks. The position requires a proactive approach to support the consultant in navigating systems that may not be fully accessible and providing orientation in various environments. The assistant will also be responsible for facilitating communication and ensuring that all necessary documentation is accessible to those who need it, thereby promoting an inclusive work environment.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Personal Assistant will have a range of responsibilities, including:
Supporting mobility and orientation for visually impaired staff during external visits and field activities.
Assisting with note-taking during meetings, workshops, and field visits as directed by UNICEF personnel.
Formatting documents, inserting graphics, and ensuring that all materials are accessible.
Reading inaccessible documents and providing descriptions of visual content.
Setting up an accessible work environment and addressing administrative tasks that present accessibility barriers.
Conducting online searches for information and documents.
Providing logistical support for activities, including photocopying, distributing materials, and assisting in the preparation of presentations.
Digitizing content from workshops and ensuring accurate electronic file transfers.
Editing and proofreading documents to maintain quality and accuracy. 1
Supporting the planning and coordination of workshops and meetings held in external venues.
Required Qualifications: Candidates should possess a university degree in social sciences or a related technical field, although relevant prior experience may be considered as an alternative qualification. Strong computer skills are essential, along with experience working with individuals with disabilities and organizations that advocate for their rights. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to inclusivity and have a strong understanding of accessibility issues.
