Job Overview: The position involves developing policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and tools related to the Prevention of Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Harassment (PSEAH). The contractor will be responsible for creating comprehensive frameworks that guide the implementation of PSEAH initiatives within the UNDP context. This role requires a deep understanding of PSEAH principles and practices, as well as the ability to translate these into actionable policies and tools that can be utilized by UNDP staff and partners. The assignment is expected to be completed over a period of 40 days, spread across 25 weeks, allowing for thorough research, stakeholder consultations, and iterative feedback processes to ensure the developed materials are effective and relevant.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct a thorough review of existing policies and frameworks related to PSEAH within UNDP and other relevant organizations.
Engage with stakeholders, including UNDP staff, partners, and beneficiaries, to gather insights and best practices on PSEAH.
Develop comprehensive policies that outline UNDP's commitment to preventing sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment.
Create standard operating procedures (SOPs) that provide clear guidance on reporting, response, and prevention mechanisms.
Design tools and resources that support the implementation of PSEAH policies and SOPs, including training materials and awareness-raising campaigns.
Facilitate workshops and training sessions to disseminate the developed policies and tools among UNDP staff and partners.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the implemented policies and tools, making recommendations for improvements as necessary.
Prepare and submit a final report detailing the developed policies, SOPs, tools, and the overall process undertaken during the assignment.
Required Qualifications:
Proven expertise in developing policies and frameworks related to PSEAH or similar areas.
Strong understanding of international standards and best practices in preventing sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment.
Excellent analytical and research skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear and actionable recommendations.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Experience working with UN agencies or similar organizations is highly desirable.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
Educational Background: A Master's degree in social sciences, international development, human rights, or a related field is required. Additional certifications or training in PSEAH, gender studies, or related areas would be an advantage.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in developing policies, frameworks, or tools related to PSEAH or similar fields is required. Experience working in international development or with UN agencies is highly desirable. Proven track record of engaging with stakeholders and facilitating training or workshops is also essential.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of other UN languages or local languages spoken in Zimbabwe would be an asset.
Additional Notes: The contract duration for this position is 40 days, to be completed over a 25-week period. This is a consultancy role, and the contractor is expected to work independently while adhering to the timelines set forth in the assignment. The position is open to both national and international candidates, and compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
