Job Overview:

The assistant will be responsible for implementing security protocols, conducting risk assessments, and maintaining relationships with local authorities to ensure smooth operations. Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the HAS Technical Assistant include supporting the day-to-day implementation of security and safety operations, managing safety and security matters, and conducting liaison functions with local authorities and stakeholders. The assistant will assist in preparing and updating HAS plans and procedures, support the delivery of training on security awareness, and conduct security briefings for staff. Additionally, the role involves monitoring vehicle and staff movements, maintaining safety equipment, and contributing to the development of evacuation and emergency security plans. The assistant will also be responsible for reporting security incidents, supervising contracted security personnel, and participating in field activities to ensure compliance with NRC's safety standards. Building and maintaining relationships with local authorities and community stakeholders is a key aspect of this role, as it facilitates the organization's operations and enhances the safety of staff and beneficiaries.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the HAS Technical Assistant position should possess a good understanding of humanitarian principles, safety and risk management, and humanitarian access. Previous experience working in complex contexts, particularly with NGOs, is highly desirable. Proficiency in MS Office applications, especially Word and Excel, is required. A university degree in a relevant field, such as social sciences or law enforcement, is preferred. Candidates should have 1-2 years of experience working with international NGOs, demonstrating strong political and security knowledge of the operational area. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, along with the ability to build networks with various stakeholders. A native Arabic speaker with good English language skills is preferred, as well as knowledge of humanitarian principles and standards.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for the HAS Technical Assistant position includes a university degree in any relevant field, with a preference for social sciences, law enforcement, or a certified graduation from a military or police academy. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of humanitarian operations and the legal frameworks governing them.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have 1-2 years of experience working with international NGOs, NGOs, or foundations, particularly in complex and volatile contexts. This position is full-time and may require regular travel within the designated Local Authority area, with the possibility of travel outside the area as needed.
