Duties and Responsibilities:

The role includes building relationships with development cooperation agencies, contributing to the design and implementation of projects that positively impact refugees, and ensuring that relevant data is available for planning and advocacy. The Development Officer will also assist in training activities aimed at enhancing coordination between humanitarian and development interventions, and will engage with various stakeholders to promote the inclusion of refugees in development processes. Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of six years of relevant experience in a large international development institution, with at least two years in field operations. A strong background in local or area-based economic development, social protection, or governance in fragile contexts is essential. The ideal candidate should have practical experience in engaging with multilateral development banks and bilateral donors, as well as a solid understanding of the governance structures that influence development initiatives. Skills in partnership development, strategic communication, and results-based management are also required.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in Development Economics, Development Studies, International Relations, Political Science, Law, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees are preferred, particularly for candidates seeking to meet the experience requirements with fewer years of relevant work experience. Specialized training or certifications in areas related to development cooperation or refugee protection may also be beneficial.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of four years of direct work experience in a relevant role within a large international development institution. Candidates should have experience in field operations and a demonstrated ability to engage with various stakeholders, including government entities and development partners. Experience with forced displacement and knowledge of quantitative research methods will be considered an asset.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, and knowledge of the UN working language of the duty station is required if it is not English. Proficiency in local languages is also advantageous, particularly for roles that involve direct engagement with local communities and stakeholders.
