Job Overview:
The Programme Management Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the secretariat functions related to the Escazú Agreement. This position requires a proactive individual who can manage a variety of administrative and project management tasks. The assistant will be responsible for ensuring the smooth implementation of projects associated with the Agreement, which aims to enhance access to information, public participation, and justice in environmental matters across Latin America and the Caribbean. The role involves close collaboration with the Director of the Division and the Legal Officer, ensuring that all project activities are executed efficiently and effectively. The assistant will also be involved in organizing meetings, managing communications, and maintaining documentation related to the projects, thereby contributing to the overall success of the secretariat's objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Programme Management Assistant will undertake a comprehensive range of duties, including but not limited to: performing management and administrative support functions to facilitate project implementation; assisting in organizing and executing secretariat activities; managing consultants and contractors, including liaising with human resources and financial services; drafting and responding to correspondence; arranging official travel for staff and participants; maintaining project-related files and documents; compiling and organizing information for reports and meetings; monitoring expenditures and allotments; performing various administrative tasks such as meeting organization and procurement; preparing presentation materials; formatting documents and coordinating printing and translation; maintaining schedules and calendars; performing data entry and management; and assisting with day-to-day administrative procedures as required. This role demands a high level of organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Additionally, relevant studies in legal or related fields are desirable. The position requires at least three years of experience in project management, general office support, or a related area. For candidates with a first-level university degree or higher, the minimum experience requirement is reduced to one year. Document management experience is essential, and experience working for an international organization is preferred. Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP and experience in data analytics or related fields are also desirable. Knowledge of GDoc is an added advantage.

Educational Background:
A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory for this position. Candidates must clearly indicate their completion of high school in their Applicant Profile. Relevant studies in legal or related fields are considered a plus, enhancing the candidate's suitability for the role.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of three years of relevant experience in project management, general office support, or a related area. Experience in document management is a must, while experience in international organizations and familiarity with ERP systems like SAP are highly desirable. Additionally, candidates with one year or more of experience in data analytics or related areas will have an advantage.

Languages:
