Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including: conducting user research to gather insights on the effectiveness of Yoda AI; assisting in the design and organization of workshops with public officers in the target nation; developing data collection instruments such as surveys and interview protocols that align with the pedagogical outcomes of Yoda AI; leading interviews and focus groups to evaluate the AI's effectiveness in addressing learning needs and implementation challenges; presenting evaluation findings and recommendations to UN DESA staff, country representatives, and external partners; collaborating with UN DESA experts and consultants throughout the design, development, testing, and deployment phases of the AI agent; and drafting a comprehensive research paper on the evaluation findings and their implications for AI-enabled sustainable learning in the public sector.
Required Qualifications: Applicants must meet one of the following criteria: (a) be enrolled in or have completed a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in or have completed the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). While professional work experience is not required for the UN Internship Programme, a field of study closely related to the internship is necessary. Applicants should demonstrate proficiency in standard software applications, particularly MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams.
Educational Background: Candidates must be students in the final year of their first university degree (bachelor's or equivalent), or enrolled in or have completed a Master's or Ph.D. program. Proof of enrollment or completion must be provided with the application, and an official certificate will be required at a later stage.
Experience: While no professional work experience is required for this internship, candidates should have relevant academic experience or coursework that aligns with the responsibilities of the internship. This may include experience in research, user experience design, or educational technology.
