Job Overview:
The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position is located within the Arabic Language Unit of the News Section II, part of the News and Content Branch within the Department of Global Communications at the United Nations. This branch serves as a multimedia service aimed at promoting the core ideals of the UN, such as peace and respect for human rights. The intern will gain practical experience in a dynamic newsroom environment, focusing on the production of daily news, in-depth features, and multimedia content in Arabic. The role is designed for individuals eager to learn about the UN's operations and contribute to its mission through effective communication and storytelling.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern's responsibilities will include drafting Arabic news articles by synthesizing and translating information from various sources, such as reports, press releases, and official statements. The intern will assist with fact-checking and conducting background research to ensure accuracy in reporting. Additionally, the intern will help produce graphic, visual, and audio content, and will be encouraged to work on feature stories, conduct interviews, and draft those stories. The intern will also review the partnerships database in collaboration with the UN Partnerships Unit, seeking new digital media partners and trustworthy entities focused on fact-checking and media literacy. Other duties may be assigned as needed, including outreach activities.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for this internship, applicants must be enrolled in or have completed a graduate program in communication, journalism, international relations, public administration, English, or translation studies (second university degree or equivalent, or higher). Alternatively, applicants may be in their final academic year of a first university degree program in the same fields (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent). Candidates should be proficient in standard word processing and spreadsheet software, such as Microsoft Word and Excel, and must demonstrate a strong interest in the UN's work and a commitment to its ideals. The ability to interact successfully with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds is essential, along with a willingness to understand and respect differing opinions.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have completed or be enrolled in a relevant academic program, either at the graduate level or in the final year of an undergraduate program. This includes fields such as communication, journalism, international relations, public administration, English, or translation studies. A minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required for applicants who have completed their studies.

Experience:
No prior work experience is required for this internship. However, candidates should possess relevant training, education, or skills that would benefit the UN during their internship. Languages:
