Job Overview:
The individual contractor will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the Working Group sessions and the Colloquium organized by the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL). This position involves providing administrative support to officers of the International Trade Law Division (ITLD) during several key events scheduled to take place at UN Headquarters in New York in 202
  • The contractor will be responsible for facilitating the logistics and operations of these sessions, which include the 53rd session of Working Group III focused on ISDS Reform, the Colloquium, and various other Working Group sessions addressing topics such as Dispute Settlement, Electronic Commerce, and Insolvency Law. The contractor's contributions will be vital in ensuring that these high-level meetings are conducted efficiently and effectively, thereby supporting the UN's mission to foster international trade law and cooperation.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the individual contractor include, but are not limited to:
  • Providing comprehensive administrative support to the officers of ITLD during the Working Group sessions and the Colloquium.
  • Assisting in the preparation and organization of meeting materials, agendas, and documentation required for the sessions.
  • Coordinating logistics for the meetings, including venue arrangements, equipment setup, and technical support for online meeting platforms.
  • Ensuring that all participants are informed of meeting schedules, locations, and any changes that may occur.
  • Taking notes and minutes during the sessions, capturing key discussions and decisions made.
  • Supporting the facilitation of communication between participants, including delegates from member states and other stakeholders.
  • Assisting in the follow-up of action items and ensuring that outcomes from the meetings are documented and disseminated appropriately.
  • Contributing to the overall success of the events by providing timely and effective support to the ITLD officers and participants.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires a high school diploma as a minimum educational qualification. Additionally, candidates must possess at least two years of experience in general office support or a related area. Experience in servicing official UN meetings is highly desirable, as is familiarity with online meeting platforms, which are increasingly important in today's digital communication landscape. Candidates should demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Educational Background:
