Job Overview:
The Driver position at UN Women involves providing reliable and safe driving services to the Deputy Representative and other UN officials, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of discretion, integrity, and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security. The Driver is expected to demonstrate a client-oriented approach, courtesy, and the ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds. In addition to driving responsibilities, the Driver will also provide basic administrative and clerical support to the UN Women Country Office. This role is crucial for facilitating the smooth operation of the office and supporting the mission of UN Women in Haiti.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide reliable and secure driving services, including transporting UN Women officials, delivering documents, and facilitating airport arrivals.
  • Ensure proper use of the vehicle by maintaining logs of mileage, gas consumption, and vehicle maintenance.
  • Conduct day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle, ensuring it is clean and in good working condition, and arranging for repairs as necessary.
  • Maintain all required documents and supplies in the vehicle, including insurance and first aid kits.
  • Provide general administrative and logistic support, assisting with filing, photocopying, and distribution of publications.
  • Perform other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the office.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and completion of secondary education. A strong knowledge of driving rules, regulations, and local roads is essential. Candidates should also possess excellent driving skills and defensive driving capabilities, along with the ability to perform minor vehicle repairs.

Educational Background:
The minimum educational requirement for this position is the completion of secondary education. A valid driver’s license is also required to ensure compliance with driving regulations.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least 3 years of relevant experience as a driver in an international organization, embassy, or within the UN system, demonstrating a safe driving record throughout their career.

Languages:
Fluency in English and the local language is required. Knowledge of another official UN language, such as French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish, is considered desirable.
