Job Overview: The Programme Support Expert will play a crucial role in the UNODC Programme Office in the Philippines, which coordinates and implements activities aligned with the UNODC Regional Programme and the 2023-2028 UN-Philippines Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework. This position involves a variety of administrative and programmatic tasks aimed at supporting the office's operations, particularly in the area of criminal justice reform. The expert will work under the direct supervision of the Philippines Country Manager/Programme Coordinator, assisting in coordination functions and supporting the Criminal Justice team in implementing specific projects. The role requires a proactive approach to managing tasks and ensuring effective communication within the office and with external stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Programme Support Expert will assist the Country Manager/Programme Coordinator in the overall coordination of administrative and program functions, which includes helping to coordinate the work of team members and project assistants regarding finances, common services, and office operations to ensure effective workflow and task distribution. The expert will support internal and external communication for the office, contribute to programme-related tasks such as reporting and monitoring, and assist with HR-related coordination, including recruitment processes and staff onboarding. Additionally, the expert will provide logistical and administrative support for project implementation under the Criminal Justice portfolio, organize activities and events such as workshops and trainings, manage travel arrangements for participants and staff, handle procurement processes in line with organizational rules, draft and manage correspondence related to project activities, and perform other project-related tasks as required.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The ideal candidate should demonstrate adaptability and flexibility in a dynamic work environment, as well as creativity in developing solutions to challenges. Professionalism and self-management are essential, along with the ability to work collaboratively within a team and coordinate effectively with various stakeholders. Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as social sciences, public administration, international relations, or a related discipline is required. Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in administrative support, project management, or program coordination, preferably within an international organization or a similar context. Experience in the field of criminal justice reform or related areas will be highly regarded. Familiarity with UNODC's mandate and operations is a plus.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and spoken. Knowledge of Filipino or other local languages is considered an asset, as it may enhance communication with local stakeholders and communities.
