Job Overview: The OSCE POiD is looking for a self-motivated and result-oriented professional to fill the position of Graphic Designer. This role is part of a roster call aimed at building a pool of pre-vetted professionals who can be engaged for both short-term and long-term assignments as opportunities arise. The Graphic Designer will support the Media Unit in various local activities, collaborating with national and international organizations. The position requires creativity and adherence to established quality and production guidelines while executing design projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating visually engaging materials that effectively communicate messages to diverse audiences, including youth, women, rural communities, and persons with disabilities. The role also involves staying updated with multimedia trends and ensuring that all visual content aligns with organizational branding and communication guidelines.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Graphic Designer will report to the Media Officer and will be responsible for the following tasks: executing creative concepts and designs for various projects, including publications, presentations, posters, banners, brochures, and other print and electronic materials; designing visual presentations using tools such as PowerPoint and Prezi; transforming data into compelling infographics; conceptualizing and producing visual materials suitable for social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram; adapting complex messages into accessible formats for a range of audiences; keeping abreast of multimedia trends and technologies to enhance the quality and impact of visual content; and ensuring compliance with organizational branding, accessibility, and communication guidelines.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a university degree or equivalent qualification in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Multimedia Design, or a related field. Additionally, a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in graphic design is required. The ideal candidate should demonstrate a proven ability to design across various platforms, including print, web, and presentations. Strong creative and conceptual thinking skills are essential, along with proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), MS Office, and other design tools. Knowledge of animation is also necessary. Candidates should have the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines, as well as a solid understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design. Excellent attention to detail, strong communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to work with diverse teams are also critical.
Educational Background: The position requires a Bachelor's Degree (First-level university degree or equivalent) in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Multimedia Design, or a related field. This educational background is essential to ensure that the candidate possesses the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills required for effective graphic design work.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in graphic design. This experience should encompass a range of design projects across different platforms, demonstrating the ability to create visually appealing and effective materials. The candidate should also have experience working in a collaborative environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously, and meeting tight deadlines.
Languages: Proficiency in English and Russian is mandatory for this position. Additional Notes: The position is offered under a Special Service Agreement (SSA) or as a consultant role, with no specific grade assigned. The contract duration is for one month, and the remuneration will be based on the selected consultant's qualifications, experience, and the tasks and deliverables associated with the position, in accordance with OSCE established rates.
