Job Overview: The position involves recruiting two consultants: one international and one national, to support the National Prospective Study RCA 2050 during phases 3 and 4 of the process. The consultants will be tasked with providing expert guidance and analysis to ensure the successful completion of the study, which aims to outline the long-term development strategy for the Central African Republic. The role requires a deep understanding of economic planning, development strategies, and the ability to work collaboratively with local stakeholders. The consultants will be expected to deliver high-quality reports and recommendations based on their findings, contributing to the overall objectives of the UNDP in the region.
Duties and Responsibilities: The consultants will be responsible for conducting comprehensive analyses related to the RCA 2050 study, including but not limited to:
Developing a detailed work plan for the study phases, ensuring alignment with UNDP guidelines and objectives.
Engaging with local stakeholders, including government officials, civil society, and community representatives, to gather insights and data relevant to the study.
Analyzing economic, social, and environmental data to identify trends and opportunities for sustainable development in the Central African Republic.
Preparing and presenting interim and final reports that summarize findings, conclusions, and recommendations for policymakers.
Facilitating workshops and discussions to disseminate findings and gather feedback from stakeholders.
Ensuring that all deliverables meet the quality standards set by UNDP and are submitted within the agreed timelines.
Required Qualifications: For the International Consultant: A minimum of a Master's degree (Bac + 5) in fields such as Foresight, Economics, Management, Sociology, Geography, or a related discipline is required. The candidate must have at least ten years of relevant experience in prospective studies, economic policy, development planning, and monitoring and evaluation. For the National Consultant: A minimum of a Master's degree (Bac + 5) in Development Economics, Econometrics, Statistics, Planning, or a related field is required. The candidate must have at least three years of proven experience in conducting studies and/or research in economics, econometrics, or statistics.
Educational Background: Candidates for both positions must hold a minimum of a Master's degree (Bac + 5) in relevant fields. This educational background is essential to ensure that the consultants possess the necessary theoretical knowledge and analytical skills required for the tasks at hand.
Experience: The International Consultant is required to have a minimum of ten years of relevant experience, demonstrating a strong background in prospective studies and economic policy. The National Consultant should have at least three years of relevant experience, showcasing their ability to conduct research and analysis in the fields of economics and statistics.
Languages: Fluency in French is mandatory for both positions, given the local context of the Central African Republic. Proficiency in English is considered an asset, particularly for the International Consultant, as it may facilitate communication with international stakeholders and access to broader resources.
Additional Notes: The contract type for both positions is Individual Contractor (IC), with a mission duration of 45 working days spread over two months. The deadline for submission of proposals is December 21, 2025, at 5:00 PM New York time. Consultants are expected to work approximately 21.75 days per month, as per UNDP guidelines. All proposals must be submitted through the UNDP Supplier Portal, and any clarifications should be requested in writing via the portal's messaging feature. The UNDP will respond to inquiries without disclosing the source of the questions.
