Job Overview:
The position of Consultant for the Implementation and Monitoring of Strategies involves overseeing the execution and tracking of communication strategies for the GEWEET project. The consultant will be responsible for ensuring that the strategies align with the project goals and objectives, and will play a crucial role in validating deliverables throughout the project duration. This role requires a deep understanding of communication strategies and the ability to implement them effectively within the context of the project. The consultant will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure that the communication strategies are not only implemented but also monitored for effectiveness, making adjustments as necessary to achieve the desired outcomes.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will be tasked with several key responsibilities including:
  • Developing and implementing communication strategies for the GEWEET project.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of these strategies throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborating with project teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment of communication efforts with project objectives.
  • Validating deliverables and ensuring they meet the required standards and timelines.
  • Providing regular updates and reports on the progress of the communication strategies to project management.
  • Engaging with external partners and stakeholders to promote the project and its objectives.
  • Conducting training sessions or workshops as needed to enhance the capacity of project staff in communication strategies.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a strong background in communication, project management, or a related field. They should have proven experience in developing and implementing communication strategies, particularly in the context of development projects. Strong analytical skills and the ability to evaluate the effectiveness of communication efforts are essential. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.

Educational Background:
A minimum of a bachelor's degree in communication, public relations, project management, or a related field is required. A master's degree in a relevant discipline would be an advantage and may be preferred by the hiring organization.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least 5 years of professional experience in communication strategy development and implementation, particularly within the context of international development or similar sectors. Experience working with UN agencies or other international organizations is highly desirable. Proven track record of managing communication projects and delivering results within set timelines is crucial.

Languages:
Fluency in French is mandatory, as the project operates in a French-speaking context. Proficiency in English is also required, and knowledge of Arabic would be considered an asset, enhancing communication with local stakeholders and communities.

Additional Notes:
This position is for an individual contractor and is expected to require approximately 133 hours of work over a period of 9.5 months. The consultant will be expected to submit their proposals directly through the UNDP supplier portal by the specified deadline.
