Job Overview:
The Fatigue Risk Management Expert (OPAS) is tasked with implementing and managing a data-driven Fatigue Risk Management System (FRMS) that aims to continuously improve and mitigate fatigue risks for aviation stakeholders in Saudi Arabia. This position requires a deep understanding of aviation safety and fatigue management principles, as the expert will be responsible for administering the FRMS, which is based on scientific principles and operational knowledge. The role involves identifying potential fatigue-related risks, providing mitigation strategies, and ensuring that aviation stakeholders maintain optimal alertness to reduce performance errors. The expert will also develop and implement risk management processes, design educational modules related to fatigue, and manage the analysis and documentation of the FRMS to ensure compliance and effectiveness in safety oversight.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The primary duties of the Fatigue Risk Management Expert include administering and executing the GACA Fatigue Risk Management System (FRMS), which involves continuous monitoring and management of safety risks associated with fatigue-related errors. The expert will identify risks, provide mitigation suggestions, and manage the effects of fatigue to enhance alertness among aviation stakeholders. Responsibilities also include developing and implementing risk management and safety assurance processes, designing fatigue-related education and training modules, and overseeing the analysis, investigation, documentation, and monitoring of the FRMS. The expert will perform other related duties as assigned, ensuring that all actions align with GACA's safety and regulatory standards.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree in Aviation or relevant academic qualifications. Extensive professional experience of 10 years or more in aviation fatigue risk management is required, with a proven track record of increasing responsibility leading to supervisory roles in large government or international organizations. Candidates should have advanced technical qualifications in FRMS and demonstrated experience in safety management and civil aviation safety regulations. A thorough knowledge of ICAO SARPs and the ability to produce clear and concise technical reports are essential. Candidates must also be adept at applying directives from the International Civil Aviation Organization accurately.

Educational Background:
A university degree in Aviation or a related field is mandatory for this position. Candidates with relevant academic qualifications that demonstrate a strong foundation in aviation principles and safety management will also be considered. Advanced technical qualifications in fatigue risk management are highly desirable, as they will enhance the candidate's ability to perform effectively in this role.

Experience:
The position requires extensive experience, specifically a minimum of 10 years in a modern aviation environment, with increasing levels of responsibility leading to supervisory roles. Candidates should have significant experience in aviation fatigue risk management, ideally within large government or international organizations.
