Duties and Responsibilities: The Interpreter will have several key responsibilities, including:
Providing accurate interpretation from English to Rohingya and vice versa for various documents and materials as needed.
Creating audio recordings in Rohingya of the interpreted texts for use in outreach products distributed through social media and the IIMM website.
Collaborating with the Mechanism's language services team to discuss and resolve any lexicon-related issues or challenges in interpretation.
Completing any additional tasks as assigned by the Front Office or the Collection, Analysis and Sharing Section (CASS) of the IIMM. These duties require a commitment to quality and adherence to deadlines, ensuring that all interpretation work is completed in a timely manner.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a university degree (Bachelor's or equivalent) in a relevant field. Alternatively, a university certificate or diploma combined with two additional years of relevant professional experience in interpretation may be accepted in lieu of a degree. Furthermore, candidates should have at least four years of professional experience in interpretation, with a preference for those who have provided interpretation or translation services in support of criminal investigations or similar contexts.
