Job Overview: The position of Especialista Pedagógico del Proyecto UNESCO-Quellaveco-REIMAGINA involves providing technical assistance to educational leaders in the Moquegua region of Peru. The primary objective is to strengthen their governance and school management capacities. This role includes training in leadership, assistance in school management, and organizational support. The specialist will work closely with school directors to identify and leverage available interventions and opportunities within each school's territory, thereby facilitating the transformation of educational institutions. The position is integral to the implementation of the UNESCO-Quellaveco project, which aims to improve learning outcomes for 12,000 students by promoting innovative methodologies that enhance academic experiences and socio-emotional and digital skills, contributing to community development.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Especialista Pedagógico include:
Programmatic Planning and Coordination: Conduct diagnostic visits to assigned educational institutions, develop a technical assistance plan, and ensure regular visits to each institution.
School Management Assistance: Identify strengths and weaknesses in school management, propose adjustments based on diagnostics, and facilitate the transfer of successful practices among institutions.
Monitoring, Technical Support, and Reporting: Design monitoring tools, conduct periodic evaluations, provide personalized feedback, and prepare reports on the implementation of strategies.
Teamwork: Foster a positive team spirit and collaborate with project teams and educational authorities.
Other Functions: Support the organization of educational festivals and congresses as needed. The role requires a proactive approach to enhancing educational governance and management practices.
Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for this position include a bachelor's degree in Education or a related field, with a preference for candidates with specialization in School Management. Candidates should have at least 8 years of experience in the public or private education sector, with a minimum of 4 years in educational management roles. Proven experience leading school management initiatives and involvement in community education projects is essential. Candidates should also have experience as an advisor or consultant in governance and school management.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in Education or a related field, with a preference for those who have pursued further studies or specialization in School Management. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of educational governance and management.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 8 years of general experience in the education sector, with at least 4 years in roles related to educational management. Candidates should have led initiatives in school management and have experience in community education projects, particularly in rural areas. Languages: Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, as it is the primary language of instruction and communication in the region. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required for this position.
Additional Notes: The contract for this position will last between 7 to 11 months, depending on budget availability and performance evaluation. The role is based in the Moquegua region, and candidates must either reside there or be willing to relocate. The position requires travel within and outside the country as needed for project activities, with travel costs covered by the project. The contract does not include medical coverage or expectations for renewal or conversion to another type of contract.
