Job Overview:
The Internal Communications Analyst position at CIMMYT is designed for a dynamic, self-motivated, and service-oriented professional who will work within the Engagement chapter of the organization. The role is pivotal in maintaining and enhancing internal communication channels to ensure that all staff members are informed, engaged, and connected. The analyst will be responsible for executing internal communication strategies that promote CIMMYT’s mission and values, while also fostering a collaborative environment among diverse teams. This position requires a proactive approach to developing content and managing communication tools that resonate with staff across the globe, thereby contributing to employee engagement and retention.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Internal Communications Analyst will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including but not limited to: maintaining internal communications channels such as the intranet and email distribution lists to ensure they are current and user-friendly; coordinating internal communication tools and events like townhalls and newsletters; executing internal communication campaigns that connect CIMMYT staff worldwide; developing and maintaining content for newsletters, intranet, emails, and other platforms by collaborating with various teams to gather stories and updates; supporting change management initiatives through effective communication plans and materials; evaluating the effectiveness of communication initiatives and events, analyzing feedback, and recommending improvements; promoting CIMMYT’s mission, values, and organizational culture through communication efforts and staff events; leading the creation of CIMMYT’s annual report, including proposing format, theme, and design to amplify impact; and organizing and executing staff events such as Get Together and Catalyst of Change.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field. Proven experience in internal communications, corporate communications, or similar roles is essential. The ideal candidate should have strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills in English, with Spanish proficiency considered a plus. Additionally, the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment is crucial. Experience with digital communication tools and platforms is also required, along with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree in communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field is required for this position. This educational background provides the necessary foundation for understanding the principles of effective communication and media relations, which are critical for the role of Internal Communications Analyst.

Experience:
The position requires proven experience in internal communications, corporate communications, or similar roles. Candidates should have a track record of successfully managing communication projects and initiatives, demonstrating their ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines. Experience in developing content for various communication platforms and engaging with diverse teams is also essential.

Languages:
Strong proficiency in English is mandatory, as the role involves significant writing and editing responsibilities. Proficiency in Spanish is considered a plus, as it can enhance communication with a broader range of staff members and stakeholders.

CIMMYT offers an attractive remuneration package that includes support for continuous professional development.
